Is anyone else experiencing unstable MX Player? some times it plays some time (most times) for some reason i cannot find it doesnt play the video.. also whats the difference between h/w and h/w+ decoder?

doesn't boot

I flashed the rom, all looked good. At times was slow at boot or had to wait too long after it boots before it runs all the boot optimizations and so on. Two days later, it doesn't boot anymore. All I get is the MINIX boot screen and that's it. I am flashing 1.5a rom now to see if it's going to work. I was on stock before.

I think the image you post is the update procedure with Finless 1.5A firmware ...
My oppinion is to use RKBatchTool 1.5 ...but better wait for more competent advice !

Instructions:
UNZIP THIS TO A FOLDER YOU CAN FIND EVERYTHING IN THE PACKAGE! You will be refering to this folder for drivers!
The update.img kit will not work with this process! Make sure you downloaded the PC based version of this ROM!
Additionally the hardest part is installing the drivers on your PC!
They are supplied in the ROM flash kit but you MUST follow the instructions to the letter to get them installed.
OK so with that said lets get to it.
To get the drivers installed we must FIRST put the ug802 into ROM flash mode!
So I am going to explain how to get the unit into flash mode and you will use this procedure twice.
Once to get the drivers installed and another to flash the ROM.
To put the ug802 into flash mode:
1) Remove any SDcard you may have installed.
2) Connected the supplied USB cable from the device to your PC. It will power up and windows
may detect the device. DO not worry about that. We need it powered up.
3) In the ROM kit run the ROM FLash Tool.exe. You will not at the bottom is says "No found RKAndroid rock usb".
3) Go into the ug802 menus and go to advanced settings.
4) Go into "system" and in the list turn on USB settings - Connect to computer.
5) Windows will bong about a device plugged in.
6) Now in the ug802 advanced settings go to the "device" area (the TV tube icon).
7) In there change the "USB Computer Connection" to "Mass Storage". Windows will BONG it found a device.
Note: If it was already set to that, change it to "Media Device (MTP)".
Windows will BONG again it found a device and NOW again switch it back to Mass Storage.
The point is we need that change in state at least once!!!
Also make sure in advanced settings the USB Debugging is turned off!
8) Now at the bottom of the PC flash tool you should see "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb".
If it does NOT say that, then repeat steps 6,7,8.
9) Once it says "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb" in the flash tool click the "Reboot to Flash Mode" button.
10) Wait up to at least 10 seconds. The unit should reboot and the screen for the ug802 will be black (no ouptut).
11) If the unit does not reboot to a blank screen, repeats steps 7-9.
Congrats! You are now in flash mode! To get out of it at any time just unplug the USB power to the ug802.
It will boot back up normally out of flash mode.

Driver install:
1) Now that we are in ROM flash mode as above, Windows should now have a new device found and it will be unknown.
2) Open the device manager in control panel. You should see a device listed as unknown with a yellow symbol in it.
3) RIGHT click on it and select "Update Driver".
4) You will get a dialog asking to search or browse my computer for the driver. Click Browse
5) On the next screen click the browse button. A file manager will open.
6) Now remember I told you to unzip this package to somewhere you know how to find it like the desktop?
7) Using the file manager point to this package, Click on the driver folder.
8) Then click on the folder for 32bit or 64bit depending on your OS.
9) Now click on your OS version, e.g. Win7, etc.
10) The OK button should now be available to click OK.
11) At this point the drivers should install. If not start over.
12) No matter what, reboot the PC now. Also unplug the ug802 and let it reboot
13) Once the PC is back up plug in the ug802 and repeat the steps for getting into flash mode!
14) Now this is important! If you did everything right when you go into flash mode (blank screen),
the PC FLash tool should now say at the bottom "Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb"
If it does not, you did not get the drivers installed! repeat above yet again.

Flashing the ROM:
OK so you know how to get into flash mode AND you got the drivers installed.
The flash tool says at the bottom "Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb". We are ready!
NOTE THIS WILL ERASE THE UNIT AND REMOVE ANY APP, MOVIES, WETC you may have put on it!
THis is a full erase! However to get the 1gig of APP space, WE MUST DO THIS.
So make sure anything you had was backed up.
Now here are where things get more complicated over my previous ROMs.
Before you did not have to really change anything in the flash tool. Now you have to make choices!
You need to select a kernel you want to use and a boot.img to go with it.
BY DEFAULT IF YOU CHANGE NOTHING, the kernel will be stock LATEST ug802 kernel at 720 and boot.img that goes with it.
Choices:
You will have several kernels for 1080 and 720 as well as overclock speeds.
You will also need to select a boot.img that works with the kernel you choose soo resoltuon matches.
Boot.img:
Boot is the same for ALL kernels except the boot image! If you select a 720 boot.img and a 1080 kernel,
your boot screen will not be right. It wont hurt you and the ROM will work but for a good looking boot,
you need to select a boot.img that goes with the kernel resolution you select.
There are 2 boot.img's
boot720.img and boot1080.img. Of course select the right resolution boot for the kernel you choose!
By DEFAULT, the flash tool is set for 720 boot.
Kernels:
2dark4u has provided 5 extra kernels. So there are 6 in the kit. This is what they are:
720 resolution kernels that should work on any ug802:
-kernel.img = Stock latest JellyBean kernel at 720. This is default choice in the flash tool!
-kernel_720_CPU1272_GPU466_RAM1120.img = Overclocked CPU@1272, GPU@466, Ram@1120 - N0 heatsink required!
-kernel_720_CPU1608_GPU466_RAM1120.img = Overclocked CPU@1608, GPU@466, Ram@1120 - WARNING!!! heatsink required!!!!!
1080 resolution kernels that should work on any ug802:
kernel_1080_CPU1272_GPU466_RAM1120.img = Overclocked CPU@1272, GPU@466, Ram@1120 - N0 heatsink required!
kernel_1080_CPU1608_GPU466_RAM1120.img = Overclocked CPU@1608, GPU@466, Ram@1120 - WARNING!!! heatsink required!!!!!
1080 EXTREME Overclock. This kernel amy be unstable if the chips on your ug802 are not the best!
It wont work realiably on my personal ug802! So try it but be ready to not be able to boot if it wont work!
If it does NOT work, you will be bricked and have to unbrick by taking the unit apart and shorting the pads.
kernel_1080_CPU1608_GPU500_RAM1332_OC.img = = Overclocked CPU@1608, GPU@500, Ram@1332 - WARNING!!! GOOD heatsink required!!!!!

Making your choices:
Again the flash tool by default is setup for stock kernel. TO change and make a choice do the follwoing:
Selecting kernel:
1) On the kernel.img line to the far right of that line is a little box. Click it.
2) You will get a windows file dialog. Navigate to FinlessROM and you will see a list of kernels. Select one.
3) Close the dialog.
4) Now on the boot.img click the box ot the far right... Same as above.
5) select a boot.img that matches your kernel. 720 kernels use boot720.img. 1080 kernels use boot1080.img.
Flashing:
1) DO NOT UNCHECK OR CHECK ANY OF THE BOXES IN THE ROM TOOL WINDOW! I have set this up to work just right!
If you uncheck or check something.... YOUR ON YOUR OWN IF YOU BRICK!!!!!
1) Press the button in the flash tool "Erase NAND (IDB)". Let it finish.
YOU MUST DO THIS OR THE FLASH WILL NOT WORK!!!!!
2) Press the "Flash ROM" button. It will take several minutes to do it's thing. Watch for errors!
3) After flash and no errors, the ug802 will reboot.

Changing kernels after first flash:
You maybe able to reflash only the kernel.img and boot.img without erasing NAND.
To do this put the ug802 in flash mode again.
Run the flash tool again and uncheck EVERYTHING except the kernel and boot.
As insructed above, select the kernel and boot you want.
Flash without erasing NAND.
WARNING, if the ug802 is unstable you may have to reflash and erase NAND.
Many times you can get away with flashing boot and kernel but not always.
So do this at tyour own risk!

Notes:
If you got errors using the PC flash tool, then you have some kind of USB problem.
Some things to check:
1) Make sure you connect to a real USB port from the PC. NOT a USB hub or maybe even front panel USB ports!
2) Some older BIOS have a setting called "high speed USB". You may have to go into the BIOS and turn that off.
That was a crappy implementation of USB 3.0 that is not reliable.
3) Try connecting to USB 2.0 ports instead of 3.0 if you have them.
4) Try unplugging any other USB devices like removable disks, hubs, media readers, etc.
5) All else fails, try another PC.

First post here, got my MK808 + Mele F10 a week or so ago and I've been lurking here ever since, great work you guys do

Anyway I've been running Finless 1.5a but decided to give this a try today and it's great BUT I have a huawei E353 Dongle and in Finless 1.5a it was just plug and play, it worked perfectly without doing anything but with this rom I can't get it to work The 3G icon will appear for a second then disappear, it just keeps doing that and will never connect.

Any ideas? I'd really like to use this rom 24/7 D:

I have been using this rom more than 1 week without any problem . I tried & used all of the roms which released . For me this is the Best ... Good looking, good additional features as screen shot, smoot running, good internet connection etc... I am very HAPPY wlth it. Thanks one more time..Strongly suggested.

...for my opinion, Yes, it is better than 1,5a..
i have started to download a lot of full bluray videos via torrent when i started to use this rom... There was No any connection drop.. At least for me...

Quick question? Why does facebook and other sites see the browser in this rom as ios browser? Everitime i got a popup to install a app for the site from i_tunes.
