    MK808 and USB Hub

Guyz does the usb hub have to have power supply? I purchased this one http://www.****.co.uk/itm/3209519906...84.m1439.l2649 and whenever i connect more than 1 usb device, they wont work. When i connect only 1 it works.. I guess this means more than 1 device is not powered enough by the mk808 power supply alone and i need a hub with power connection right?

You got it absolutely right. Besides, if you're using wifi, I'd highly recommend not to use any other peripheral. You'd rather stick them all into a powered hub. And don't buy those crappy cheep chinese generic hubs on ****, they won't work. All of them have the same issues: crappy and low power supplies and they are sending the 5v current back to the host port when powered which is not good. Go for a named brand instead (D-Link DUB-7H / DUB-4H for example).

    Best of luck!

I had exactly the same problem with the Y cable for my drive before I got the powered hub. What I did was I took a very narrow piece of tape and put it over the + contact of the male USB that goes to the host. So in that way the Y cable does not feed the host with power. To make sure you got the contact well isolated, you can plug your HDD to the host first. If the HDD does not start - you got it right. Now you can go ahead and plug the second USB to a power source. This is actually the way the powered hub works.
