Wow, great news! The firmware fixed issues with wifi and bluetooth!
    Here is the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/817093383/update.zip

One thing though. I'm able to join my wifi network but the connection breaks approximately in 1 minute. And there's that crappy menu, I dunno how to switch it off. I suppose that menu might somehow be the cause of wifi disconnections.

That would be sooo great if Bob could make a good, debloated firmware!

      Thanks Belovo!

Same device, same problem, same solution.

      Bob, we trust you.

        novistar, glad to be useful!

I've noticed that with this firmware, my MK808 is quite unstable. It freezes often, applications stop working and quit for no reason. Wifi behaves quite bad: disconnects often and speed is super slow.

        Are you having same issues?

          I'll test it ASAP.

The most important: It's working. Unbricking was successful. Thank for You.

The applications stopped sometimes. It was with the factory firmware also. But the WIFI is working properly much better than previously. You have to know I use a robust WIFI network system at home.

Test is running, more experience later.

My aim is running a linux OS in MK808 for using office applications. The linux bricked the device. I'm noob in this field, just learning.

Well, I can't say my wifi network is robust because it's just a single Apple Airport Extreme router. But it works with all my other devices (including an older miniPC, MK802) with no issues whatsoever. So I guess something might be wrong with the wifi chip itself, maybe not. I dunno.

Anyway, I'll wait for Bob to release a better firmware, hoping it would fix things.

Guys, I can "try" to make a ROM for this but since I do not have the hardware, you guys will be crash test dummies

I am going to take my MK808 1.6 and see if I can port it using proper wifi modules and your current kernel.
Best we can hope for at this time.

Thank bob, waiting your custom rom

                  Belovo,
Thank for your link, it works well. Since it is very near to my router, the signal is well and no disconnect happened so far. Applications sometimes stopped n machice hanged (not often). I am still trying, maybe you can use a 2A transformer or format your microsd from your minipc.

                    Hey Bob,

I've been trying to find some more info about my MK808 and ran into this post:

It was confirmed that the device does not work on some devices due to the resolution being set wrong in the kernel.
                    http://www.armtvtech.com/armtvtechfo...t=141&start=20

So perhaps my HDMI splitter won't pick up the signal because of that kernel issue. And you said you were going to do something about the kernel so could you please have a look at that part and if possible, fix it in your updated firmware?

Not sure why your bringing up the old MK808 resolution problem?
What I am going to try in fix is the stability issues in the ROM. If this kernel for the 808 clone has the resolution problem, I cannot fix that. Someone will need to compile a new kernel which might be a big problem if we do not have sources for the wifi and BT hardware!

Why are you bringing up a resolution problem? Is it not working with your TV? I can tell you this ROM and kernel works on my TV.

Do me a favor. install Antutu benchmark and tell me whatit says the resolution is.

Nevermind, I've found the problem. One of my HDMI cables was too bad for high resolutions. Once I repalced it with a better one, the flickering was gone. My bad I didn't find that simple solution earlier.

                          MK808 clone MT6622N & MT5931SA

                          Hi Bob,

I have the MK808 clone so when ever you get the ROM sorted I would like to try and test it as well.

Org ROM installed is the MK808 -F -B..Thanks

Hi, I'm new here, but reading this thread I have seen that I have the same problem that you hardware. Bob? Has created this rom?

I thank you for your comments

                            regards

I have now made a ROM for this "clone" device.
