I tried to download the Live Suite stuff and Norton said it was a security risk. Scared of viruses I stopped downloading it and deleted what I had already downloaded onto my moms puter. I better not upgrade to Jellybean until I can find a safe version of the Live Suite. Don't want to goof up my moms puter or my tablet. Oh well.Tablets: Polaroid PMID 701i, PMID 4311, Zeki 10" tablet

Just picked up an Emerson 543
Greetings.
I picked up an Emerson em543 new in a box two days ago for $30, and immediately hit Google for root/rom info, leading me here.
Quick overview.... I had no issues flashing your packages to the device. Awesome job, thank you for investing the time to put this out, I can't imagine the work involved.
Once flashed I had all of the usual problems that seem to be listed here, objects weren't sizing up right and things like that, I applied the DPI fix which seemed to rectify most of it. The biggest problem I have is that it seems to slow to a crawl after a time.
I'm not positive but I think it might be tied to installing Amazon Appstore after I had used the Google Play Store to install all of my Android stuff there. So I reflashed the device back to stock and noticed the battery was being torn through in an obscene fashion, so I decided to give the CM flash one more chance..... and here I am.
Just wanted to get a post in, hoping to participate, will update after I get a chance to install some stuff and pin down my issue.
Thanks again.

1. Have ES Taskmanager installed, and the killall widgit on the desktop and use it before I start a new program.
2. In ES taskmanager you can go in and blacklist alot of the startup apps. You don't need at of things always running that try to auto start. Every little cycle helps with this device.
3. In Settings/Dev tun on "Don't keep activities", change the background process limit to at most 1, and checking "Kill app back button".
4. There is a program called "System Tuner" that lets you OC your CPU. I can get mine up to 1.15ghz. Any more and it crashes, though this will use more power.
As for the battery thing, well, this is mostly a wifi thing. With Wifi on I get a little under 2 hours of life. With it off, and playing GBA emu, I can go for 2 hours and use 20%. So yeah, turn off the wifi whenever you are not using it.
Also, a little bit more. I turn suggest turning it off tablet mode (setting in screen). It is a really small screen, and pretty bad res, and having the app thing it is a "tablet" isn't the best. Apps that thing that will often times give the "big view" type stuff. This is noticable in the Youtube app for instance. Also, as I would recomend GMD AutoHide Soft Keys. The big reason is I like having the apps use the full screen, which a lot won't because the soft keys need to show. This removes it, and has a "hidden" soft key. There is also the added stuff you get with it. Like a menu button that doesn't get hidden by the notification menu, the abulity to jump to the last program, close all programs, google something, ect. Then there is the fact that the phone soft keys bloody suck.
Hope this helps you some.
O, and EMU's up to the PSX work fine on it, though you may want to get a usb micro to usb female and a joystick if you intend to use it to game.

App2SD and a few other questions
I had my EM543 for a few months and I need to thank you guys of making this thing run smoother and better looking.I just did the dopa thing and CM10 upgrade. I had to twiddle with the 'ro.sf.lcd_density' setting like the posting said and the screen is better. I did remove a few apps and added others to the 'app' directory to more suit the things I used.
BUT.... I had to use the PMID4311 zip. The touch screen didn't work with the EM543 zip but it does work with the PMID4311. I'm just glad I was able to fix that on my own by reading through the forum.
Also, I think I messed up my internal SDcard. and also my external sdcard is non-functional. I use App2SD with my Verizon Vortex and it does same memory and out of habit installed it on the EM543. and as I'm typing this I seem to recall not to use any app to SD programs since it's built-in to the CM10. is this true or is there something else that I messed up?
I'm gonna try redoing the Dopa setup and then installing the EM543 zip again and see if that fixes the sd cards.
also, is there a difference in the camera drivers on the PMID vs the EM543?

Memory Problem
I've been using this ROM for a couple of months without serious problems, but now I seem to be having trouble with the internal memory. Usually, if I go to the "storage" area under settings, there's categories for internal memory, another for internal memory, and one for the SD card. Now the tablet only has one category for internal memory (the second one is blank). Every time I put in the SD card, I get a message that says "SD card is damaged, try reformatting." When I hit the reformat button, I get the same message.
When I try to launch Transformers Legends, I get a message that says, "SD card is currently in use, try disabling mass storage mode." This despite the fact that the tablet isn't hooked up to a computer. Is there a way to fix this, or is the tablet just giving out?
