While you did not say... I assume all these Hints work on the Stock Firmware.??
On the changing the Boot animation (Orange Swirls.?) did you have to have something
else or did away with it entirely... ??
And I just used PimpMyRom to replace the boot animation with the stock Galaxy Nexus animation from Jellybean. It's cleaner and doesn't hiccup noticeably on boot.

Hi "Elektrik" & "Mthous01"
First Thanks both of You for the quick reply...
I am trying to read between the lines...
Does "PimpMyRom" Create a New Firmware Image and you install that..??
If that is correct, Is the Image moved to the Main Computer and you use LiveSuite..
or do you some how allow it to over write the current OS all being done on the Tablet
Again Thanks
Ed

Hi "Mthous01"
Thanks for the INFO...
When you get next to your Tablet ... Please look at the settings of SetCPU...
I am guessing in "Fantasy" mode you set Max & Min CPU speeds.... I would like to know
what they are...
================================================== =
On the Heat issue that you have spoken about in other Posts ....
Mine gets warm at the very bottom (where all the Ports are) felt with my hand ...
It seems like when you rest the Tablet in your lap in Landscape Mode the Vent holes
are blocked by your jeans...
I believe the Speaker Grill in inlet for Air... and Holes around Ports are used for Outlet ...
If you pick it up off your lap and position it where all vents are open it does cool down
rather quickly ...
I am assuming your using a Apk to read the temp... If so which one...

Smoothing Out the Lumps
Hi to all Readers...
A Special thanks to "Elektrik" and "Mthous01" for there help...
Now to the Subject... "Killing the Lag"... This is specific to Polaroid PMID 1000D
This is all based on the Stock firmware... I assume all readers have the Google Play installed..
If not look for "SingleDad" he details it rather well....
1.) I turned off all Sync. (I had 4 email accounts that were sync)
2.) Download and Install... "SuperSU" by ChainFire... (Free Version)
3.) D/L "App Cache Cleaner" (Free Version) in setup set timeframe to 1 hour and tick clean at startup...
4.) D/L "AutoKiller Memory Manager" (Free Version) set it to "Aggressive" preset...
NOTE: each time you reboot your tab you have to reset the Aggressive...
The easy way to fix this is Buy the Pro Version for $4.62 and Reboot the tablet
and in setup will be a Tick for reboot.. to save the settings...
The down side of going with buying the Pro Version is there must be Internet connection
as it must check the Pro Key before starting the Memory Manager....
There are other ways around this but they are very complicated .....(ie) PimpMyRom
5.) D/L "SetCPU" (DO NOT tick Set at Reboot. Until your sure of what you want..)
Now the PMID 1000D has a ARMv7 Cortex A8 and when you look up the spec's
it says 600 mhz min and max > 1 ghz...
I set mine at tops 960mhz and bottom 600mhz... and I did tick set at boot...
This seems to be the best trade off .... Less Heat, Better Battery Life ...
and good speed for what I use mine for...
================================================== ======
When you first turn on your tablet wait for the Wifi to turn Blue...
This will give the memory manager a chance to check in...
Now I have noticed a Very Big Improvement .. over what it was before...
I have had the Stock Browser Stall and Pressed "Wait" for it to come alive ...
I hope this helps you get the Lumps out of your machine....

Requires "init.d"
Originally posted by mthous01 View PostYou might try minfreemanager as another option for adjusting minfrees. That might work after reboot without paying for the Autokiller
(which I guess to be a Folder) but that is what is required for it to save on reboot...
Now from other post by You, I understand that PimpMyRom (PMR) will create this ...
I will attempt to use it once I get more info ... I do want to change the Animation on Boot...
Again Thanks

Don't Feel To Bad
Originally posted by mthous01 View PostAlas, I will be little more help, as my Polaroid PMID1000d fell of the table and shattered. No insurance, no accidental damage, so I'm out a tablet. But much luck to you getting this to work a bit better.
Sorry to hear about dropping your tablet...
I just fried a PMID 4311 Yesterday... Talking on Skype and took a big drink of water
and ended up spitting it on the device ... and Yes the side with all the openings ended up
with water in them....
Another trash item ...
