I may be being stupid here, but which version of the finless 1.5 ROM should I be flashing? Is the one marked for the MK808 OK for the MK809 II? I'm a bit of a nood at these things, flashed a few phones but that was a while ago.

I tried 1.5a, but when I run rkandroidtool it just says "device can not do flash mode, because it is not msc device"

Wied that others say the Wifi doesn't work after Finless 1.5 , mine works fine, are they sure they have 809II and not 809, as uestebang above states it doesn't work..
Hi, I'm new to the iCube MK809 II, and like most people finding the stock rom is rubbish. Where do i find the Finless 1.5 rom, and instructions to install? Is there a linux version of the flashing software also? All help greatfully received.

        Vern.

          mk808 kernel on mk809II

          Hey guys
I wish to install Finless 1.7 system and 2dark4u 1080p kernel with max overclock on my mk809II. But at the same time I want to use PicUnto, so I need a dual boot. The main issue of PicUntu is that there is no hw acceleration support of Mali 400 in the original pack. So, I've found a modded PicUntu for MK808 that have hw acceleration. There is a source. The pack contains from:
          Kernel (by olegk0):kernel-mk808-olegk0.img
          Rootfs: ubuntu_12.10_mk808_v1.0_neophyte.x360.img.gz
As I understand, I should use this kernel to boot up ubuntu, but can it be installed on mk809II? I don't need wi-fi or bluetooth. Is there a way to come back to 2dark4u kernel, if it wouldn't work?
Of cause it's sad, cause even in case of lucky install, my MK809II with this mk808 kernel will not give me same performance as on 2dark4u kernel.
Finless, maybe you can integrate mali400 drivers to your overclocked kernel, so we can use this performance on linux?
Linux on android tv stick is very interesting theme, cause there is a torrent stream tv engine released on ubuntu. So if you have such device with ubuntu, you can watch torrent streamed tv for free. There a lot of channels, included HD. In case that IPTV is not free and list of channels is not big, this technology will be very popular.
          P.S. Sorry for my English.

If you read the intructions for Picuntu you will see that the linux kernel is installed to the recovery area. Thats how it dual boots! The Android kernel stay in the kernel area. So you can have any android kernel you want.

Oh, then sorry for that silly question) It seems I haven't paid much attention when I was reading it.
But what about installing MK808 kernel (even into the recovery area) on the MK809II? Would it work?

I did read that. But I wanted to know if someone has the mk809II cozyswan brand. Although it seems the same, maybe change something like wifi or bluetooth as in other clonic models.

Confirmed working. I've tried fb 1.5 and 1.7 roms (720p) for mx1 and they work fine (including bt & wifi). Streaming through wifi lags sometimes, but that's not the roms fault. I'm getting another cozyswan for the bedroom soon.
