Older - Minix Neo X5 Finless Custom ROM 1.0

Hello, after Finless's rom installing to me with the intention of playing to Gameloft's games, I observe that I it could not have done to the games motive Gt academy and another similar hiunday academy. When it loads Gameloft's logo it is closed and sends me to the principal menu, nevertheless in my modest Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, I can execute them without problem. After knowing that you habia tuning this rom for this intention, this where the disadvantage? Thank you

I have never looked at the IR stuff before. Got any info on RC6 MCE commands? I am assuming it just needs kcl and km files?

Not sure Bob, they got it working on Raspbmc (raspberry pi) but I think only the RC6 protocol.
I was trying to search for any info but didn't find anything. When I plug in my RC6 USB IR receiver
nothing happens.

This is the only IR receiver that I found that works on Android and will accept IR signals that can act as keyboard input.

OK so it appears the flicr device has a EEPROM that gets programmed and this code (the handling of commands) is not handled by Android. So I don't think there is much I can do.

That's unfortunate I guess we would have to appeal to Minix to add commands since the remote they provide is useless. I don't understand why they on one hand coded such a limited amount of commands.

You would think with all the universal remotes out there to control just about anything, it would work the same way. I guess the difference is this is not a transmitter but a reciever. Might explain why every TV, VCR, DVD player, etc all have different remote control IR protocols and thus unique remote controllers! They implement in the chip what they want and make it unique. In this day and age, one would think a universal IR IEEE protocol would be developed.

Yeah, it sucks, the X5 remote is in the Harmony database but supported commands are joke.
It can't be that complicated to encode the entire keyboard. Perhaps you could suggest this
since it looks like you have contact with the company
They send units for testing to XBMC team so this would be even more reason to get good IR remote support.

Does Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour work with this firmware? I ordered a MiniX Neo X5 from Newegg and I'm hoping this game works. If anyone has tested this please let me know.

Yes, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour plays with this firmware, EXTREMELY SMOOTH, I might add. I'm using the 720P Kernel, which gives the best performance without having to overclock. Note though, that I play it with the Moga controller. I already had it for use with my galaxy SIII and nexus 7. I haven't tried the gameloft games with another blue tooth controller and a different IME or the sixaxis app for the PS3 controller yet. Someday I'll mess around with those. Also, I highly recommend the Logitech K400 for use with the minix x5. It seems to almost be made for it. Aside from the keyboard and the track pad (which works great with games like angry birds where touch is needed), alot of the other hot keys work too, like the volume controls, ESC and the right mouse button to exit out of an app, the power button to put the X5 into sleep mode or do a soft power down of the X5. I've never used the included remote as the K400 has given me every function I need.

K800 is iluminated way more expensive and no trackpad.
Now here is the solution .......
Get minix to support complete IR set fof commands so we can use decent remote and then you can buy the cheap K400

My projector is in completly dark room and in order to use XBMC you need to press
keyboard shortcuts like P for play, X for stop, I for info about the movie/actors/plot and many more.

I got mine at walmart, best $30.00 bucks I could have spent for the X5. I've seen them at Target and Best Buy too. Also, there is a way to toggle on and off the tap of the pad that simulates the left click or select. If you hold the FN button down and click the left mouse button, it will turn this capability on or off. Most of the time I have this on, but depending on the app, I'll turn if off and hold the left button to give me the touch and the swipe of the track pad to give me the scroll or swipe function.
