      Other bugs.

This device needs some serious work or apps need to be patched and updated to work right with rk3188 xhipset. First, Netflix doesn't work, next is Google video/movie which ddoesn't work either. I'm on the 4.2 build that neo uploaded. I wish I was able to rebuild the kernel or drivers but that is a little beyond me at the moment.

Oh CWM generic works on this device.

      Bob,

Are you working on a rom for the mk802iv? If so then it should work for ug007b and other ug rk3188 devices.

FYI if you soft-brick a UG007B to the point where you have no other options, the method to force it into flash mode is basically identical to RK3066 devices.

While connecting the USB cable to the OTG port, in addition to shorting pins 8 and 9 on the nand chip, I had to hold in the reset button for it to be recognized properly.

Having three hands helps, or maybe a USB hub with a switch.
I've got mine back up and working (well, working as well as can be lol) with the aforementioned MK802iv firmware. Thanks!

          *Update* UG007B.

So I have been monitoring the Tronsmart thread and have been really jealous of the support that device is getting, I really wanted Finless 1.5 with the NetFlix fix installed. So I downloaded Finless 1.5 for MK908, flashed it and it boots on our devices but doesn't really work. I had so much trouble with Wi-Fi signal being weak, BT is broken and apps will not update or install; something is up with Google Playstore and I didn't take the time to figure out what was causing everything to fail.

What I did was I took the romdump from Neo, used the Finless flash tool that comes with 1.5 and flashed the stock boot.img, stock recovery.img and flashed the system.img from Finless 1.5.... It was a great success! Finless boots, Netflix works *Haven't tested sound yet as I'm at work* and Wi-Fi signal is really strong. Only things wrong are BT is broken and Google videos is still broken, from what I can tell.

I should be able to use init.d to inject the right BT drivers from the stock system.img but I haven't done this before but I'm not that new to Linux so it should be fairly straight forward?

Anyways, I really like Finless 1.5 so far, I just wish we had a modified kernel to allow OC. Gonna mod my stick and put a huge HS on it for RAM and proc.

Is it possible for you to share this modified firmware with community? I have mk809iii and would like the same for my device...

BT can be a MAJOR PAIN to get working when porting a ROM. It's not just drivers. It's usually files in /bin the bloothtooh.apk itself, and even some stuff in /etc.

I could probably port my 1.5 for the MK908 to this device. Where is the stock ROM download as that will be needed.

                Hi Finless,

I'm Tincore (maker of the new Keymapper app).

I was wondering about the feasibility of a 4.1 firmware on these devices.

Not sure if you work from sources on these. I really wanted to get the most of wiimotes but this 4.2 compatibility issue is killing me.

                Please, support Tincore Keymapper

                  Bob,

I have the stock rom for 4.1 in ROMDUMP form, the system isn't an .img but is a tar archive, I also have the 4.2 system.img that neo uploaded, you can find his download on the fist page of this thread.

I personally think you should use the 4.2 system.img that Neo uploaded as these drivers/conf files are newer: http://www.freak-tab.de/neomode/ug00...21_neomode.zip

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help... I'm becoming addicted to modding this thing and any development tricks I learn along the way would only benefit me in the future.

                    4.1 Rom for UG007B.

So I have a working 4.1 Rom for my UG007B device. Everything works perfect except one thing, sound. Sound quality is so bad, it's very tinny and sounds like it's playing through 800 bit sample rate, not sure why this is happening. I have one hunch, it has to do with the audio policy conf but I'm not 100% sure, more like 25% sure.

Bob, can you help me figure this sound thing out? The Rom is very stable and I haven't found a single problem with any application yet.

I have tried moving your Finless 1.4 MK809iv drivers to system, copied all respective audio file in /system/etc, system/bin and system/lib but that doesn't work and the device isn't booting after that. I had to re-flash my old 4.1 Rom backup I have and that un-bricked it.

I just saw that there's 2 versions of mk809iii devices: from Flycast and from Jesurun. Are those devices similar?

                              UG007B on 4.1.1

                              HI,
I have received my UG007B. I must say I'm quite happy with performance. It runs Android 4.1.1.
The only downside for now is that I cannot play 1080p material from Plex server (720p works perfectly). Netflix works very well but it probably does not go up to 1080p.
I'm sure an alternative rom will bring good 1080p playback. I will make more tests and let you guys know.
By the way, can somoene tell me where I can find instructions to root the UG007B?
                              Thanks.
