    Am I bricked?

    So ive been stuck all day now with no end result. I have successfully been able to install the roms but I should have checked nextbooks site to see if the wifi updated image applied to me.

    I have SN YF101135424

    I can now no longer get wifi to turn on instead getting 'error' displayed underneath and the 4 soft keys dont do anything anymore.

    Has anyone found a solution to my problem? I think i read that im bricked and screwed. Not bad for my first day. :P

    What ROM did you install? I have one for the 1011 and the 1211.

      I use the 1011 but has left it without wifi or soft key functionality. I did try docs fullonroot first though then decided to try yours. i never checked in between if it was before or after.

        Many have used my ROM and Doc's ROM and have not reported any issues with this. Are you sure yours is a 1011? I have seen reports of guys with 0911 serial numbers have no wifi with 1011 ROM.

        Might I suggest trying the 1211 ROM.

          Have just tried the 1211.. same thing. im assuming the original rom isn't available for my sn.

            1011 serial ROMs are available from the manufacturers site. Thats is where I got the stock 1011 ROM.

              my sn doesn't fall under any of the firmware updates available. hmmm..

                Hadn't noticed before but also there is no audio available. Is wifi, softkeys and audio all connected somehow to a certain part?

                  You might want to ping on Doc and ask whats up. I don't have the tablet so have no way to test. But that tablet is sure sounding like a 0911 serial number!

                    you might go ahead and grab the update from www.nextbookusa.com for that serial range even if your tab doesn't fall exactly to the last part of those SN#'s.

                    P.S. Your not bricked untill the fat lady sings, and your tablet looks at you with a blank black screen and no sign of life. If your even attempting to boot, your good.

                      HIs problem is no WiFi and some other issues after flashing both your ROM and my ROM.
                      He is not bricked but cant gett hat working with any ROM.

                          Yes I have sinced tried the factory update image available from nextbookusa but its still a no go.

                          I had a crack at getting nextbook to come to the party with words of "tricked" but they will only do it if i send it back to them but thats not worth it sending it from australia as they insist I come up with first having a US postal address.

                          The order of events were:
                          1. Docs Full Root
                          2. Finless Rom
                          (This point is where I noticed no wifi).
                          3. Update Rom from nextbookusa.

                          I have since tried loading Docs cramfs rom but I'm losing on all fronts.

                          I saw something on the xda forum about it but haven't found it since.

                            Dont know if it means anything but if i get into the wifi settings and advanced i have "Action IP Settings" force closing on me and the same in Audio Settings "Actions Sound Settings" close....

                              So I did a little research for you. See many times these tablets are sold by others. So it turns out the nextbook 7 is made by e-fun in Taiwan. Nextbook is the USA arm of that company. But they OEM'ed this tablet to others under other names.

                              For instance you might try this 0811 ROM

                              That appears to be an E-fun tablet.
