But if you flash the stock 1011 ROM it still doesnt work?

If that is the case my fix probably is not it then. The bummer is it is going to be drivers (kernel) or library files.

Dump Rom from a working tablet, possible?

Hi, my nextbook 7P is not function properly after flashing all available rom.
My friend also have this tablet and with the original rom. Provided that we have the same serial range, is it prossible to dump his tablet rom and flash it into mine?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Yes it is.. You need Linux and the RKDump tool.

I could swear I had a copy of original ROM but alas I may really be stuck as I cannot seem to find it... On the Nextbook site I only see the files for ones not listed in my range....

I'm fairly certain someone over on the XDA forum dumped their FY1011 original ROM before they rooted. Just go & search the Doc Hoppy thread for it.

Correct and that post on xda with the 1011 dump is what I used to make my ROM. So we Need a dump of a Tab that is outside the range for that 1011 ROM that was dumped on xda.

having the same problem here too... this is sad =( and when I do the official firmware update (1011 but the numbers behind don't tally), it freezes at the 2nd startup screen... help........

Just came across this thread - and got a solution

I had the same problem. It looks like that the tablets with no wifi/sound/softkeys are using different hardware. eFun must have upgraded some hardware on newer 1011 tablets.

Finless Bob luckily has a solution. He's recently released a 0811 rom. I installed that and bingo, everything works again. No other recovery will work, all other roms use newer hardware. The Nextbook tablets have inconsistent serial numbers. Not all 1011s have the same hardware.

The only drawback is that the 0811 has lags now and then, but then the original rom has the same thing. When I flashed the newer custom roms (1011, 1211, etc) they were really zippy. The 0811 unfortunately isn't, but that's a limitation of the original rom, possibly even hardware. Finless Bob found that the cpu is throttled, we don't know if there is a reason for that.

If anyone is game, they can try flashing a newer kernel with the 0811 rom. I don't have the time for experiments at the moment, I'm just glad to have the new market running.

I happen to have a 1211 that has a cracked screen that someone could use instead of their older version. 'its already updated to finless latest read/write rom.

It doesn't just work for the 1011's and 0811's it also works for earlier models like the 0511's
