MK802 IIIs Skype & Google Talk no calls

Hi

I have been trying to make the audio or video calls to work but so far no luck. The calls keep failing at the moment of answering. I searched the web and found out that many people have the same prob but no one has any solve. I tried flashing Finless 1.5 ~1.7, tried officials, tried Neomode, tried 2dark, w2comp, ... the problem still there, all calls failed.

text chat still works. just no calls.

On the Gtalk, the audio setting options are greyed out and not clickable.

I really don't know what I can do or where to ask, so I hope someone here can point me a direction, greatly apreciated.

You are using a camera that is probably not compatible with Android!

Hi Finless, thank you for replying.

I don't have a cam connected. I was able to use Skype to make calls and connect without a cam or a mic, to use the connection for monitoring sound sent from the android phone in the other room. Like a baby monitor setup.

Now ever since I flashed the Finless and other compatible roms, no calls since then. All flashing was successful without fail and all other functions working no problem. Just no calls. Call, and failed when connect. Drives me peanuts.

Would it be that now no calls cuz no cam? Why?

I wonder if someone willing to try if you are able to make a successfull call without a mic or a cam on your skype with your stick. I kept trying and trying...

I do not believe Skype will work without a MIC at a minimum.

Trust me, Skype does work with a known working mic/cam. We are all using it!

like in my case no call @ all, now i iknow that mkxxx skype will not work if u not attach compatible mic and camera!

Logitech C110.... It's cheap and works GREAT!

Today I tried it with a logitech c310. MK802iiis can detect it but skype still no calls.

So I tried it with my USB sound card which was indeed working before with this exact same stick, now it's not.
I can't even use it to record sound from any pre-installed sound recorder apps which it did work.

I'm very sure the devices are all functional as they are still new. The device name does shows up and I can select it from the setting.

The MK802 IIIs behaves like as if there was a firewall blocking the ports or that the internal port setting is not open.
Maybe I'm far out.

does logotech and logicool are same? im here now in japan and i cant see logitech in here, all was logicool same its unit too

Make sure your devices are plugged in the large full sized USB port! The OTG port is not a Host mode port and audio devices etc will not work properly using that. The full sized port is a Host port. This is a common mistake and everyone that moved to the full sized port audio sticks work!

Yes Sir Bob I did this whole time been plugging it in the big USB host port as you described.

I was trying out with other baby monitor apps, one of the apps popped out a window when I tried to connect, said "some program is blocking the microphone, please turn it off or reboot." Right, it does feel like some script or something is blocking the mic causing it to shut down the connection for apps to use the microphone. But I rebooted and checked all the running tasks, I couldn't find anything that I know uses microphone.

I even checked with my desktop PC with the same network. All is fine, only MK802iiis is not working.

For some reason I keep feeling it's some kind of port blocking happening in my stick. I just have absolutely no idea how to find out.

So is this with a fresh flashed ROM or have you installed a bunch of APPs?
If so I recommend testing with a fresh ROM as some APP or something appears to be taking over the device.

Also how about the stock ROM? Does it work or not?

yes, I have been working on this problem for days now and with every ROM I flashed , the first thing I did was to test the skype connection without any other app installed, and after I tried all things I could possibly think of, if it is still not working , I' try the next ROM I have and repeat the tests. After all ROMs show no signs of connection, I came here and started this thread.

still trying.... am not gonna give up.... if it is dead, i wanna see the body, ... if it is not working, i wanna know why.

though I kinda hoping it's kind of stupid mistake like I forget to turn the switch on or something like that....

btw, it is the stock ROM i'm currently using now. I came back to this ROM last so I stayed here. gonna swtich to finless 1.7 as soon as i figure this out, cuz i love it. it works perfectly smooth on my MK802iiis. ( except Skype calls )

Yes, I'm using the latest stock ROM the 20130121 from Rikomagic's site.

No, the skype call is not working for me. same like other compatible ROMs.

any app that requires a mic, not working.
