      Bob, this kernel is not available to download:

      Thks.

      Hey folks.... As we all know, there have been no sources for the many MK808B models!
      So 1080 kernels have never existed!

      Well UNTIL NOW

      Using Dero's kernel binary patch process I have made kernels for you MK808B guys!
      See here for how it is done:

      But let me tell you this is NOT EASY!
      For JB 4.2.2 everything changed from 4.1.1! I had to decompile and look for specific code...
      Dero's post helped, but I spent 6 hours cracking/hacking the code to find exactly what to patch.
      It was not easy folks...
      Working from a decompiled binary..... IS NOT EASY!
      But I had fun and learned a lot from the experience

      I will try later to do more 1080 kernels for those that do not have 1080 kernels.
      Please try to refrain from asking me over and over!

      Also for now, do not ask me for custom resolutions!
      I have not figured out the values yet!!!
      Maybe I will in the future!

      OK as ALWAYS... please read the README.txt file for instructions!

      OK on with the show! Here are the downloads:

      For Jelly Bean 4.1.x like my Finless 1.7 ROMs

      ROM -> MK808B Original Finless 1080P Kernel Jelly Bean 4.1.x (3 megs)

      ROM -> MK808B Sunvel Clone Finless 1080P Kernel Jelly Bean 4.1.x (3 megs)

      For Jelly Bean 4.2.2 like my Finless 2.0 JB 4.2.2 ROMs

      ROM -> MK808 (NOT-B) - Finless 1080P Kernel for - Jelly Bean 4.2.2 (3 megs)

      ROM -> MK808B Original - Finless 1080P Kernel for - Jelly Bean 4.2.2 (3 megs)

      Yes, I will try to do more kernels soon!

      Enjoy,
      Bob

            Guys, it really leaves to see a significant difference worth the change?
            My TV is 1080p and I'm "Finless 1.7c 720p", and everything looks pretty good!

            Bob, thanks again! Very good work!

              Choiche between 720 and 1080 kernels when reboot ?

              Hi Bob,

              Suggestion: Would it be possible, to implement a choice of kernels prior
              to reboot? 1080 is great for watching pictures, but it has sometimes problems
              even when watching just 720p video files (system performance too slow). So,
              for high res videos the 720 is the peferred choice with a dual core processor
              running at 1 GHz and for pictures the 1080 option.

                Resolution 1032p

                Hi Bob!
                Thank you for your really nice work!
                I just installed your new 1080p kernel, however I
                noticed that resolution is not 1080 but 1032.
                Am I the only one facing this problem?

                  That is 1080. Apps read it as 1032 due to the status bar even if you hide it. If you look with the 720 kernel it says it is 672.

                    PLease BOB my TV is HD Ready 720p version of your Rom 1.7c on Mk808b works fine but when I installs your Fineless 2.0 custom rom or Stock firmware. My TV shows Mode not supported error. So, please fix it so that I can enjoy your Android 4.2.2 build.

                      +1 Kernel choice on boot

                      I second rainjahn request of kernel choice on boot will come in handy
                      especially for tvs with native resolution of 1366x768

                        our TV's should sync with our mk808 when they boot up. all but 1 of mine do nicely. I had to boot my mk808 with one of my new TV's and change screen setting to 720p and shut down and then boot up with old TV to get it working. Maybe Bob uses his with a new 1080p TV and saves his ROM with that setting so we start that way. Maybe you have a newer TV or friend with to try and change setting?

                          The way it works is on boot the kernel reads the EDID from your TV and sets to the closest it can. ROM are empty with this information on first flash.

                          So if your TV wont sync, there is not much I can do without making a kernel.

                          Now as to why the 4.2.2 JB kernel wont sync when 4.1.1 did, I do not know other than they made a mistake reading EDID in this new kernel. My guess is it is setting up for 60hz and people in Europe etc are 50hz? Just a guess.

                            So, Bob but I think you can have a go to make a kernel so that many of us can use it..

                              Can someone please post a picture where you can see the difference in the browser/playstore?
                              And how is the performance while browsing?

                              I dont use it as a media player - so laggy video playback doesnt matter to me.

                              I am really interested in true 1080p resolution, because i use this device with my beamer, and the standard resolution really looks terrible.

                                EDID can be problematic with older hardware. I was on finless 1.5 when my old Pan tech TV had trouble syncing. Still finding a TV that will sync and then adjusting the screen to 720p then moving to old TV worked for me.
