The only thing I have connected is the Mele F10 dongle..
so no (un)powered hub with ethernet/lan adapter/external hdd etc...

just the dongle, couldn't be the problem right? with power..?

When I connect the otg cable to the pc/usb.. the pc screen always 'flickers' .. is this normal or a problem? Another flash method or wouldn't that matter?

And the high beeping noise from the tv.. when the stick is connected (seems to go away sometimes for a little while)? Normal or power issue?

There has to be something.. What am I missing?
All these people viewing this topic are probably laughing their ass off while using their perfectly working imito mx1 :/

Working driver is working driver... so a different Windows version wouldn't matter? Sigh..
I don't even use windows normally..

But if it was a flashing problem, the stick wouldn't even boot right?

I still don't understand that I could/can watch the video from that app without problems.. but not XBMC, or just regular freezes /exiting/reboots..

          freezing / reboot MX2

I have the same problem with my MX2 and talke about it a few months ago. For me it freezed/reboots when the WIFI is on. I'm guessing it has something to do with the radio chip that cause it to do this. I have not found any solution so far and all the ROMs I tried did not fix.

I will just say this. Remember that XBMC is "work in progress" so do not expect it to be 100% stable!

For XBMC issues I suggest you follow the threads in the XBMC Talk forum.

It freezes with almost everything, even mail settings if I'm unlucky, or browsing,.. so that's not really an option.

You're kind of making a fool out of me with that answer..

And not useable it something different than not 100% stable.

Can anyone seriously answer the questions I asked.. please?

I have yet another stick I can throw in the bin.. and I guess a lot of people know exactly what the problem is.. and I feel like shit cause the previous owner had it working like a charm.. that's what he says.. (yeah, couldn't buy yet another new stick.. and extra cable, and extra this..).
so I guess it can't be wifi either.
It's not like I have a lot of money or something, or play with this like it is a toy like some people, let that be clear. I don't think it's funny and I need this working for personal reasons. Not just for 1 week to see and than resell.

                Did it work with ethernet/lan...?

Hmm, I've tried that.. didn't work either I guess.. (ok didn't have a powered hub, but I had to try everything to get this thing working). And the previous owner had it working, so can't be that in my case..

But if it was the problem for you.. that s*cks.. I hope you can use it with ethernet..

                  Hi,
I had same problems with mine. After many frustrating days and sleepless nights I actually fix it yesterday .

Use SetCPU for Root Users to clock it down to to 1200MHz

Yeah, I dit that with no frills CPU and with Antutu or something.. no luck

I guess I can try SetCPU but I guess that wouldn't make a difference.

                    This is driving me

I am going to update you, after this weekend, how stabil my stick is now. I only test it in 2 hours last night. Before down clocking stick was running max 5-10min

Ok, thank you, I hope it works for you..

out of pure frustration I could buy yet another, more expensive, power adapter.. but the chances are that that's just throwing away more money.. for a non working stick.. so yeah.. still hoping to find a solution I guess.

Yeah.. trying to install setcpu, freezing again and again.. I'm stopping now before I'm throwing it out of the window or something.

Trying the otg port instead of the power micro usb..
I know.. probably not.. but I have to try anything..
nope, video (app/stream) is running.. cursor freezes../not responding no other way to get
out than to pull the power adapter out..

How long are you waiting for the stick to unfreeze? I have waited 3-4mins before while some program does something or another in the background.

However, I betting on you having a heat related problem (bad stick). Do you know the previous owner well? It could be he 'played' with it.. Seems that 1.6ghz cpu settings cause it to overheat and lockup/reboot.. http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...1523#post61523. You could try to open it and remount the heatsinks..

The previous owner didn't even know what the reset button was.. so I don't think he 'played' with it.. just used it for missed shows, browsing and foreign tv apps. That sort of stuff.

I agree, I don't wait.. when it totally freezes, I will try it. edit: (doesn't work..)

I'm back to Imito firmware now.. (RKBatchTool/restore). Problem with that is, no root, so no setting the CPU .. (as long as I don't have root that is). But setting the CPU didn't work before anyways.. so .. Just trying anything I can think of.

(And the problem with XBMC but that's another story).
