ROM for the new MK809IV Quadcore??

Just flashed 4.1.1 rom, 4.2.2 was very buggy with wifi, dropped speed to 2/3mbps a few minutes after connecting... 4.1.1 is better with wifi, but the rom is not rooted. What's the correct procedure to root the 4.1.1 rom? Many thanks.

I suggest you connect your device to your TV and laptop with you, so that you can easily zrotowac:

Use a DC power port device and use the OTG port to connect with a laptop MK. (Ie the OTG is the mini usb with card reader)



1) Download ROOT RK.zip and extract it to a folder.

2) Install and open it Moborobo (file is in the ROOT RK)

3) Make sure that USB debugging is enabled in the MK (go to "Settings" - "USB", select "Connect to PC chooice"
and then go to the "Developer options" open "USB debugging" option)

4) Wait Moborobo detect the device and install the drivers. Detects the device as the RK Series.

5) Run TPSparkyRoot.bat and follow the onscreen instructions.
MK reboot 3 times during this process. (Please note, after each reboot, select "Connect to PC" every time in MK,
if you do not choose to root, that is the reason why I asked you to connect MK with TV and a laptop together)
Once done, go to the next step.

6) Install SuperSU the store Play. (If it is not installed in the previous step)


If all goes well, we should have root

After installing Moborobo, how do I connect the mk802iv to the pc:
Using the otg port and pressing the flash button before I connect it?
Do I use a power cable to turn on the device and only connect it to the
pc afterwards using the otg port, but without pressing the flash button?

Connect the cable from the laptop to the port OTG.
You do not need any additional power supply, do not forget to hook up the TV HDMI

I have the exact same one as you, the MK809iv. As it's so new there doesn't seem to be much support or work being done with it. I'm very surprised that it doesn't even play standard definition video without the judder! So does the 4.2.2 rom you have posted the link for above fix the video playback issues?! If so which definitions does it work with?

Hi there, can i just confirm 4.1.1 rom works on mk802iv before i flash it. I am new to this and havent
flashed any roms till date as i am scared of bricking it.
please advise..only problem i have with 4.2 is it doesnt work well with flash player . so i am trying to
downgrade to 4.1

I saw a video from ApadTV in wich they are testing the mk809 IV but with a 4.4.2 kitkat rom...
Has anyone this rom or does somebody use a stick with that rom?
Perhaps does it solve few problems of the 809 IV?

I flashed a kit Kat rom and it worked, but I had stability issues with Xbmc, and the ir remote did not work. Ultimately I flashed back to the stock rom, and have been trying to solve the frameskip, juttering, or whatever is going on. I can't play a video in Xbmc (beyond Xbmc and regular frodo/Gotham) without jerky and stuttering video. It's really frustrating. I used a perl script to modify the kernel with the frameskip modification. I flashed that kernel and it didn't change anything. I've tried flashing several other kernels but have not gotten them to work (stick doesn't boot).

I'm not giving up, I'll keep trying and post if I come up with a solution.
