FreakTab New Design

Hello Community,

As you know we have change our Forum Software to a new Software.

We like to know from you what should we change to make it better for you?

Right now we have the follow Plan:

When you come to FreakTab you should see a News Section where we want to Show News on Android Hardware and Tech.

Then we will add a link for a Forum Overview where you can see all Sections we have.

At last we add a Link to the Last Activities on our Forum.

Please tell us what you think on this.

Yes your idea is Valid

At present I find new topics can take up to a minute to retrieve, even if previous marked all channel read
Assume channels = threads and topics = post

Or is there need a new post only option required?

Font presented may require more high lighting and enlarging, or is this going to be individual customise ?

I think many are having little trouble getting around the layout/change, Patience is all that is needed

"new topics" doesnt show.. where/what section this new post/topic was made
"bb-code" menu made life easyer
"add url" the current button... behavior is bit wierd
"Page filter" at top right corner.. please change it.. to "page 1234" (like..under rightcorner)
"Button to top" jump to top of a long post
"Auto save" typed text

Being able to see what category/section each post is in, like it was on the previous FT version, would go a long way to increasing browsing efficiency . Having the, "jump to last page/post" button next to the page selector would also be a help. I know you folks are working hard on this forum, and I am greatful for that.
The site has improved a little since this version was initially launched, "Rome wasn't built in a day".
I would be curious to know what prompted the change though. Why mess with near perfection? Is it me, or is activity down?

I'm getting "long script errors". So this means I can't even use my blackberry phone to access the forum anymore.
Offhand I'd say its more difficult now to access and use this forum. I always thought the idea was to allow more traffic and not send it away?

Making it harder to access for the sake of cosmetics is silly. Especially a mechanical minded forum such as this one.

I do most of my reading of this forum on my Android boxes connected to my TV, the font size are so small, I can't read them. Tried different browsers and settings, but still have difficulty reading them. And as others have said, I miss the category field.

I like the presentation of the new site.

The main issue is the search for 'New Topics', as trebor said the search takes a long time initially dispaly, average about 40 seconds. It also takes the same time to go to the next page of search results. The other issue is the 'Mark Channels Read'. This button appears to not work sometimes. If you are still on the search page it doesn't seem to clear the entries. Clicking on the 'New Topics' button again still displays the old results. If you go the the Main forum page prior to clicking the clear button the old search results are cleared correctly.

Havent tried using the site on the mobile yet, but I can tell you that it's choking Chrome on my 1055T @ 4Ghz w/ 16GB of RAM. It takes about 5 seconds before the site is actually usable, it just freezes showing only the banner. The movement through the site is also very glitchy. Haven't encountered this on any other forum, so I'm assuming the server didn't like the upgrade, and not the fact that this build of vBulletin is slow.

I can't figure out how to jump to the 1st unread message in a thread? (SOLVED!)
The font used is way to small....on a PC as well as mobile devices.
I did notice that pinch to zoom is now working on Android!!! That helps to see this small font

Hmm.. just tried to post a msg.. with "add url" then "add picture"
Its not working.. its 1 or the other.. (it seems)

Also "change" avatar.. cannot crop it.. the way, iwish...whille using android tabled

I seem to be getting very slow performance from the site. Otherwise, I'm getting used to the new layout. It looks very sharp.

In android, is the mouse double click working to zoom pages to make them sort of readable on the TV screen from near distances?

Last time I checked, this function was not working in the new website (it was functional in the old website)

I thought that was a function of the BROWSER, as opposed to the site.
