I thought that was a function of the BROWSER, as opposed to the site.

Yes, but I did and do not change any settings in the browser or in android.

In other web pages and on the old freaktab web pages, by double clicking the left mouse button, it zooms the pages to a preset zoom setting in the browser - 100%, 110%, 120% or whatever.... is set.

Double clicking on the new freaktab web pages to zoom and be able to read them from a short distance, the pages do nothing..... no zoom. Other web pages are zooming with the same settings.

I also have the same problem with the zoom in Engadget web pages.

I don't like it. Not because it is unfamiliar, but more that is just doesn't flow and is not intuitive. It took the longest time, for example, to notice that the login is way way way at the top, all the way over to the right and very small. And I just could not find a download I was looking for. It was difficult.
I think if you want to modernize, just brazenly copy what works well: xda-developers.com. I'd say get the same software they use and make a very similar layout and functionality. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...
