Great news, nice to see my device keep updating

from MinixForum:

Major change log (since 20150207 firmware):
1.) Fixed various app compatibility issues

It should be ok but you will lose root but minix dont offer support for rooted devices .

I updated mine fine (rooted v3) via the fota update. Afterwards OTAUpgrade.apk is missing from the v4 update - so if you want to root easily, save this file first or extract it from the v3 firmware (zip is posted on this site), then install it onto your minix neo x8h and run it to install the root update (also found on this site). Then you'll have a rooted v4 firmware.

Updated with minimal fixes to 004A, a flashable zip will be nice, and a Finless version would be great!

Nothing is better than the finless's releases; I tried stock 003 but I quicly coming back to the Finless 002a.

But he is really busy at the moment... that's why you don't hear anything from him at the moment.
But I have to say, at MINIX meanwhile a custom rom is at best case something like a nice to have but not, as at other cheaper Chinese devices, something like a MUST to have, because they have a really good support and also understand to porting parts of Finless mods to there stock roms...

Glad to hear he is still around. I am a big fan of Minix products and agree that they work fine with stock firmware. I tend to still flash anything finless makes tho because its just that much better! I hope he has time to make us another custom ROM soon!
