Tranferring data, add ons and settings from box to box

    Hi everyone,
I have a box here with my own personal settings, favs, addons, etc. I backed up the .org.xbmc.kodi folder and all of it's contents to my USB.
I have another box here (same model) with add ons and settings pre configured. I deleted the entire .org.xbmc.kodi and copied the export from my other box and imported it. I loaded Kodi, works fine with all my add ons and favorites.
My question is for long term use or any for that matter, was my methods of copying over the data harmful or could be harmful in any way? Are there system specific files or settings which should not be deleted from the system I copied data from which was copied from my old box and could potentially mess things up? I just want to know if my methods will screw anything up in the future and ensure stability on the box.
    Thanks everyone

Well.. I used this method a few times..
If you used kodi 14 and backed...then import it to 15.. then you might get a bunch of "not compatible addons" popups
    Same goes for 12/13/14..
So, make sure.. to install the same kodi/XBMC/spmc version as the backup hat.. and you should be fine

    Anyway... goodluck

Thanks Mitch. I've usually used this approach for the 13.2 Gotham to Gotham transfers. I have another backup from Kodi 14.1 and I loaded it to 14.0 and 14.2 , seems to work fine. I haven't tried 15.0 yet..will be testing it out this week.

      Thx again.

Just upload the apps you copied from the older Kodi install ! When I installed the latest Rom here for a Matricom Q-box and a full restore from one to a later version will screw it up.
