TRONSMART ARA IZ37 Dual Boot

Tronsmart are very late to the party with their Wintel box and I can't help wonder if, at the price point that it has anything to separate it from the rest to make it a worthwhile purchase.

I don't think so, Eric here. As far as i know, tronsmart ara z37 is the first dual boot mini pc with insyde bois, the other competitor use the AMI bois, some big brand always choose insyde, and for end users, the dual os switch become easy, you don't need to choose the OS every time when you start the device. and i can confirm tronsmart use the official windows 8.1 with bing license NTE version for mini pc. which is totally legal for the end users, i can confirm minix z64 and mele 's mini pc all use the official windows 8.1 license, but the others, i doubt, so compare with minix and Mele, the tronsmart price is competitive.

also i test the android OS in xbmc. it can support dolby / dts passthrough, seems the description from tronsmart official site don't mention this, it's a pity. but the android os in ara iz37 is better than the others. it's my 2 cents.

Yes plays very well with my usual testing video.








Very Smooth I also enabled DTS to my sound bar through HDMI to TV then Optical to sound Bar all working well.
Played over Network (WI-FI) from a WD Duo Nas

Now running Windows 10 full on Tronsmart ARA IZ37 no problems at all went easy.
Just had to remember to turn Tablet mode off in settings to get Desktop and Taskbar to get Windows to Android switcher all working well.

OK. Maybe the BIOS MIGHT not flash over but its still almost twice the price of the CX-W8 which has identical hardware. Not sure that makes it a good deal IMHO

No sound problems yet, maybe wait a few before updating.
Yet to try Kodi on Win10,
Maybe a few issues with latest release 15
