Yes, the Lollipop ROM should work better.
23.976fps framerate videos is the main culprit.
See if you can't encode to other framerates eg. 24,25,30,50,60, maybe 24fps.
Not sure if audio will be in sync but there should be an option in the encoding software to help.

In Lollipop firmware, there is a setting for 23.976 optimize in 'Acceleration' in Rockchip Kodi settings.
The default video player will also convert some 23.976fps videos to 24, 50 framerate for smoother playback.

23.976fps is a very weird combination, not sure why all the US Hollywood Bluerays are encoded in this format since 99% of TV's, Android tv boxes only have 24,25,30,50,60,100,120 fps settings.
Then you need clever firmware or software to make these kind of videos play properly.

What is the resolution, framerate, bitrate & codecs of your videos?

They might play better with 'Video' player or SPMC.
    Are you using MXPlayer?

You can try a Lollipop ROM with Rockchip Kodi support

Rockchip Kodi has an optimized setting for 23.976 framerate videos and play 4K videos more smoothly.

Do you know Wich kodi will work best for this rom?

Btw I have tested your latest lollipop, I have do quick test and the rom got freeze 2 time when I browse the menu, I'm also hard tester, when I test a new rom i always browsing fast in the menu, I switch to my apps and back to UI fast few time to see how stable a rom is, it's how it's get freeze, will test more when I have more time
For KK v1.7 SPMC that is included is still the best.
For Lollipop you have to use NTMC 16 beta 2(included in my LP ROM) or RK Kodi 15.2 that is optimized for the newer VPU drivers.

I already started releasing Lollipop ROM's since 2nd Nov 2015.

You can test the v1.0 first.
I plan to update the ROM since people say Netflix isn't working on v1.2 of the ROM.

It will be a Lollipop ROM with latest Rockchip Kodi support.
I need people to test video playback and passthrough support.
Want people with HPH RK3288 devices that had passthrough issues on previous firmware.
Will finish the ROM in a day or so.

Will we have this for a nice xmas gift maybe :P
