Jup also cheating on antutu (build.prop hirsu passage) AND not giving a shit about open source and licenses. Also Zidoo gets smashed for using and modifing Kodi without posting the patches or giving the sources.

Managed to get one of the Giveaways.

Zidoo seem to have managed to provide continual support and regular firmware updates for their X9, so I am more hopeful that they will continue this trend with the X1.

With them seeming to be a smaller vendor, their support may be more of a factor than the more well know brands in order for them to survive in the marketplace.

I read all the comments on the Kodi boards about the open source stuff and sit between two fences.

On one hand I can quite see the legitimacy of Kodi's claim for them to release source code immediately but on the other, can see why Zidoo want to hold onto the source for just a little while longer to give them a short term competitive advantage.

Only time will tell on all of the points raised.

The design has also changed from the OP pics posted.

Out has gone SPDIF in favour of another USB port.

I've never seen this play perfectly all the way through on any box.

All is well until 25 seconds into the clip, where there is a revolving pan of a plate of seafood and it always suffers with stuttering., so keen to see if the 4k promise is worth it's weight.

I would still have thought that it would play smoothly on an HD set so downscaling may well still be an issue.

Could even be the Quality of the file and how it was created/compressed
The inbuilt player in the Zidoo X1 much smoother than Kodi.

Zidoo customized Kodi is much smoother than the original Kodi .The original Kodi will stutter when play even 10Mbps 4K movies on H3. But the inbuilt player TvdVideo will be smooth playing 50Mbps 4K movie.
