not working for me. rkbatchtool reports successful flash, but monitor reports invalid format (input from hdmi). also rkbatchtool lists update.img firmware as version 4.1.01. is this correct? should it not be 4.2?

Just like other 4.2.2 ROMs like the MK808, some TV sets cannot handle the way 4.2.2 HDMI output works.

So your stuck until we figure out why.

Yes I will do a ROM when I get time. Right now I am working on the new 3188 sticks.

                    Good and bad

This ROM is great because video became much smoother, no more trembling and dropped frames. At least on my TV. I use MX Player, but the problem was common for all players, probably because of the video driver or codecs.

But there are serious problems with wifi and bluetooth driver common with the ROM from Feb. 2013. My bluetooth mouse A4Tech BT-630 permanently left connection, and sometimes (quite often) bluetooth switches off by itself. So Finless ROM 1.7a is good for my mouse, Finless ROM 1.7b and this new ROM are bad.

And Wifi does not work at good speed
simultaneously with a bluetooth headset (watching youtube is impossible, for instance). This problem is common for all ROM versions.

Wonder if 5.1 pass through is working and if USB sound cards will work now.

IIRC, 4.2 comes with a proprietary bluetooth stack from broadcom instead of bluez. I expect many apps which expect bluez, to be broken without a fix. Also there are reports of assorted bt troubles.

I probably won't be updating unless there is a very good reason because I use bt functionality heavily. YMMV.

                            Alex,

I am curious about your comments.

A bunch of us have noted frame skipping / juddering on the Imito using 4.1 firmware. The problem is also there on MK808 devices with 4.1 firmares... Are you saying this has been solved?

You can go look on armtvtech, hyp3r has posted a video of the problem:

                            Has the problem disappeared?

                            Thanks!

4.2 Installed - Anyone successful with 720 streaming from XBMC or internet?

Hey all, I have the MX2 and just recently started trying to use it.

I just loaded the 4.2 firmware on it and was wondering does anyone have success with streaming 720 over internet?

I am on Ethernet and not wifi and still having issues.

Seems pretty choppy, I think the hardware should be able to handle it fine.

I will try over my NAS to see what happens.

                              Thanks
                              Mike
