Yes but the problem is these cheap PSU the voltage is all over the place when the current goes up.
Also when I measured it with overclock, it was pulling 1.7a

I have taken a look at your Product you have chosen.
Don't find any Amp writing, only 2 USB out.
Please take an other Product like a Nexus 7 Charger.
Or take a look at this:

t428 locks up and reboots
When running netflix my t428 will lock up and first it will have no sound, then I'll move the mouse around, and boom reboot's. My first assumption is that it is the psu. has anyone used this psu from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/PowerGen-Charg...wergen+3.1+amp
I think i'm going to get it in hopes that it helps make the t428 more stable.
let me know what you all think.
Thanks

5V 2A vs. 5V 1.5A
My T428 came with 5V 2A power supply and my cx-919 came with 5V 1.5A. Both runs Antutu without any glitches. In case of cx-919 1.5A output is enough.
Recently I use the cx-919 since the newest ROM seems to be OK to all the functions I need: media player for 1080p over wifi and skype communication with a Logitech c-170 ( I had to downgrade my super HD webcam to this entry level webcam since there is no support or proper driver to a decent webcam)
Strange, but HBO GO shuts down in case of certain movies. In most cases it runs without any problem.
The fact that HBO GO upgrades itself almost every second week shows that the app is very buggy.

Bad supplies?
I have had problems with constant crashing with an app when plugged into a phone charger.
But when I use my pc/ps3 to run my mk908 finless 1.5 No prproblems
could the issue be with the output being not true DC or have some sort of bad filtering with some Supplies/chargers?
just a thought

NordicPower 5V 3A
Hi, I own an MK908 stick. Currently I'm tinkering to get rid of the heat issues (especially with the 1080p kernel). Actually just got the normal heatsink removed.
I had some stability issues and got my original PSU measured by an electrician. His conclusion (he even opened it) was that the PSU isn't up to par. I found a retailer who sold me a NordicPower 5V 3A PSU with the original DC jack replaced with a Mini USB connector (so I can actually connect it to the unit). Actually, replacing the PSU lifted my AnTuTu scores between 100 - 150 and the unit has been solid - no more freezes.
A bit of polite criticism towards Eric and Geekbuying; the 4.2.2 kernel was released like a month later than promised and the advertising was a bit misleading as well. Youtube video showing smooth 3D gaming etc. Overall I had a hunch where I was going and that's not a polished product like for example AppleTV, but I have to say that I didn't except the product to be as unfinished as it is even today - let alone on the release date.
I like to end this post on a positive note: GeekBuying's service and delivery standards have been excellent (got two friends who bought the MK808's and no complaints from them as well). Also, the fact that a retailer, in this case Eric, is on these forums and actually asking about the PSU issue and contributing in general is a BIG plus.
TL;DR
1) The original PSU for my MK908 in my case wasn't good enough, I got it replaced with a 5V 3A PSU.
2) 1080p kernel with the current heatsink solution will most likely always suffer heat issues; freezes, reboots, etc.

perfect ...
perfect Bob, nowdays that happens with branded marks or china products everyone know that
and my own conclusion is that, after all, we need a 3A sent with the tv sticks...

Bashing an online seller because a product is not mature is barking up the wrong tree in my honest opinion.
Many other "selling" sites are selling this units as well. I think you should be thankful that at least Geekbuying is listening to us as other sites woud NEVER come here and respond nor would they go talk to Tronsmart and tell them the issues showing up. All geekbuying can do is stop selling these if it turns out to not be a realiable product and geekbuying wont know that until many people have them and user feedback comes in. Put yourself in a sellers shoes. You open a online shop, get a NEW PRODUCT, test what you can and decide to sell it only to find later users are having problems. How would YOU know any better as a seller?
So if you want to rant.... go on Facebook to Tronsmarts facebook page and rip them a new one for releasing a product to resellers that needs more work.
Finally I will just comment on this.
YES... just about any new China product YOU ARE A BETA TESTER! That is the risk you take buying non-Branded products from no name China companies! If you don;t want that risk then by products from major brands like LG, Panasonic, etc.... This is how it works my friends... And I think most of you know this upfront anyway!
Do any of you have some of the RK3066 TV sticks?
They ALL went through this kind of thing and still are! Go look at the MK forum for 3066.
Most of those stick came out in Sept. of last year. ALL the same issues... crappy wifi, overheating, bad power supplies, etc etc etc.... Only over time did hardware updates and ROMs improve the product.
I am not defending the China manufacturers here either. They ARE to blame... But not sellers. Thats like going into Walmart and bitching on them because a Sony product sucks....
Peteus, Eric is not scamming anyone... If anything he got scammed just as much as you did! Tronsmart is doing the scamming and should be the one to fix it. I think they knew damn well about the overheat problem too... this is why early units did not have a heatsink (like mine) and now they are adding it to newer units. Again Tronsmart did the scamming here for the overheat issue. FYI, the same thing happened on the MK808.... early units overheated until they added a heatsink! Again same China pattern.... Buy early and your testing for them!

Some of these t428 units just have bad rk3188 soc's. I thought my device was suffering from a defective PSU but I ordered 2 additional 5v 3.1 a PSU and my device still cannot get past 14% in antutu without restarting LOL. Sad to say it but the only way I can get my device to pass antutu is to limit the cpu to 1ghz, which is pathetic af considering some users can get speeds of up to 1.8ghz running stable using the stock PSU.
