Ok. Before I proceed I want to make sure I have everything set up properly. I have to flash the box while it's in operation. Like as if I'm doing the toothpick method ...right?


Ok. I've read it needs to be powered down. But can or will this work with it unplugged or just in the off position ..... red light showing..?

Pull power-cord and plug it in again. then hold the reset-button with toothpick and press power-button.

Ok i just checked the links out for the firmware and i figure id go with the ofw. In that link only one I see is "Upgrade by TF card: Download Here(112k4)"



is that the files i need?

Yep, this file you need for sd-card-flash. unpack the .zip and copy the 3 file in root of your sd-card.

Which one do I need for the USB tool?

Just use the img file from the same folder?

And I'm just installing the USB tool now :-)


I'm currently sitting at open recovery image in the USB tool .... awaiting your reply :-)

Post #13 is why I'm not clicking on that image file until you say yes the SD card image file is the one to use lol.

It worked but changed my model number to Vega s89

It's ok, was firmware with Tronsmart-brand. From the round Boxes with s802-SoC it gives many clones, e.g. Tronsmart vega s89, Orbsmart s82, Andoer s82 etc.
With the firmware you burned now, you can flash via sd.card any other firmware with branding you prefer; also an custom-firmware like Finless2.1 or RemiX115k.

Yeah it all worked out. But damn. What a nightmare. I had to crash course myself on repositorys and whatnot. I did get back the functionality of it tho. However setting it up had proven difficult lol.
