    R8 Rockchip Octa core 64 bit 4k

Just ordered an android tv box from geekbuying.com/
It seems to be fast and pretty good but I cannot find any reviews yet.
Did anyone buy this one yet or know where to find reviews?

R8 is sunchip. Sunchip has an antenna, r8 doesn't

OTG is not working with the driver and tool provided.
Also tried it with the newer http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/hot-d...tool-v1-8.html
              Tried newer drivers from DriverAssitant_v4.3
              No luck.

              Win7
              OTG male male
Sometimes a pop up saying new hardware but it refuses it.
              Nothing in device manager

It is detected in network as a media center, tried top open through LAN.. no luck.. you only see a redirection to rockchip.com
USB debugging is active by default on the R8

Where did you purchase your otg male to male cable? I can't even get my computer to even recognize it as an unknown device.

Also my m8s performed much faster especially with gaming.

Never buy an unknown or no-name brand TV Box.
You are going to face lots of firmware issues that will already be fixed on other boxes.
And then there are also hardware problems, because quality checks are few or none existent.

Perhaps but its only the otg at this point. The chipset is the same as many others so no firmware issues. It works fine now without the update. The only thing I see is issues with pulsar (restart kodi message) and in popcorn are the subtitles microscopic. That's not chipset, that's software.

Sure I regret it, but that's because I'm impatient.
Still think everything will be fine, if not I'm selling it.

Instructions say to Press in reset button, then plug in power, perhaps it will be seen then. The MK-808 & CX-919 had this same process to flash anything... I haven't purchased my male/male USB yet, going to radio shack today to get one (hopefully it will work?). Not happy with the device as is, I only get 720p resolution, hoping the new firmware fixes that, otherwise it goes back to china!

Also, the Tool you show in this thread is for the R3268, this box is R3368.

Anyone able to get the Batch tool to switch to English or find the instructions in English?

Ok, I figured out how to get the batch tool to come up in English, edit the Config.ini, line 4 to read "Selected=2" (no quotes). Then open the tool "Run as Administrator", that get's the tool open, now, if I just had a Straight USB Male/Male cable. I ran all the way to Best Buy (41 miles each way) & they didn't have one, seriously? WTF, who designs a BRAND NEW Device and makes their OTG port a FULL SIZED USB? Then DOESN'T INCLUDE THE EF-ING CABLE WITH THE DEVICE!!! No one has those cables locally because NO ONE USES USES THEM ANYMORE!! I had to order one from Amazon & wait 3 more days to get it. This BETTER work or I'm really going to lay into Geekbuying for this POS!

                      PISSED OFF in Virginia!

Tried that, also tried rockchips sd card tool. No luck
1080 crashes all the time here in popcorn. Hardware acceleration error. It's definitely not for end users.

At least you have a 1080 option, mine only goes to 720p!

Well, if you pay for an option you should get it. If I bought it in a shop I would return it straight away. This sending to china is just too much effort.

Doesn't matter about the cable because it won't connect to any of my PC's with the cable. I don't even hear the notification sound when you connect a usb device and my USB port doesn't light up.
