To the person that owns this site:

    http://androidtvnews.com/mk808b-faqs/

I do not care that you have just copy and pasted pretty much this thread, including my benchmarks. I would like everyone to have a decent experience using one of these devices. However, at least clean up my awful typo's and update the thing
    Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III

So ive got MXplayer loading HD from icefilms and loading 1channel but there was always a problem when it came to tv catch up like iplayer here is the fix.

smbwrapper.apk they guy who made this apk has been able to get xbmc to use the built in player for iplayer and other add-ons like it and for HD content from icefilms to load in MX player.
For me this is perfect as i never had great playback with the built in player for HD playback and had to sacrifice using the mk808 for UK TV catch up.

link is here to the latest apk you need to run it and choose the option you need in my case MX player.

A: Yes, and no, this currently is kernel based. There are custom kernels for the mk808, but not for the B version currently. You can use MK808 kernels on the MK808b, but you will lose Wifi and Bluetooth. The one I would use is the 2dark4u kernel as it is by far the best custom kernel. If you want to have a true XBMC 1080p experience you must use this kernel.
        Kizs v4 1080 is better.

A: You will need to download a program called Keynumbertracker which can be found here.

When the program is running, write down what key corresponds to what input and change the /system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl to the correct key.

Here is an example of key bindings.
WHERE do i find this folder?

Some roms/kernels/adaptors have an issue where if you use an ethernet adaptor once you reboot you will not be able to get a connection. To fix this, you have to turn off ethernet in the settings, then turn it back on and it will work.

The fix is a simple script, which will auto turn off and turn on the adaptor fixing that problem. (only happens on 4.1 roms). I will say though, that I recently downloaded the fix and it did not work. I then went into an android text editor, changed the sleep time and then it worked. I then changed it back and it was working fine yet again - so it may need you to edit and save the file from your device first, could be a permission issue who knows.

                  XBMC NEWS!!

So far we have 3 options, the very old nightly, the new builds that are based on Gotham, or the Ouya build.

I highly recommend that you get the Ouya build of XBMC, not only is it based on the rock solid 12.3 Frodo, but works flawlessly. You will still need the advancesettings.xml for full XBMC HW decoding
                  .

The other beauty of this release? you can install BOTH the Ouya and a nightly/official build of XBMC! The Ouya build uses non official XBMC data paths, you can even use the Ouya build with the external player XAF build.

Which file do i have to change to fix the ethernet bug? Can you please also post the script?
                    And about XBMC:
So the ouya build really has libstagefright support? I thought only gotham has it?!

The ouya build is exactly the same as the gotham builds, it only has a different icon, splash screen and better support for the ouya controller.

That's what i thought too, but some sources mark it as a frodo build, not a gotham build...

I did some testing of the ouya build and it works really well.
It has working hardware acceleration and does not have the common plugin cache crashing bug like all of the gotham builds after ~february (i have to admit that i stopped my tests of the gotham builds at alpha 7 because none worked propery, maybe the latest builds work as well).

I highly recommend the ouya build for everybody, here is a link:
                          XBMC on Ouya 12.3.2

Nope, as Phinc posted, there is an 'Ouya' build that is based on official 12.3 Frodo, not an Alpha Gotham build.

You can also disable the XBMC on Ouya splash screen by editing the advancedsettings.xml and adding <splash>false</splash>

The script is posted on the 1st page with instructions, but here are the commands.

                            ifconfig eth0 down
                            sleep 2
                            ifconfig eth0 up

Save that in text file and name it something.sh. Run it in Rom Tools and see if it disconnects/reconnects ethernet. If it doesn't edit it in Rom Toolbox by changing the sleep to 3. Test that, if it works, download Script Manager and make it run on default on boot.

The ouya xbmc build is based on 29 August 2013 xbmc nightly(Gotham) with improvements after that from the developer. Here is the changelog - https://github.com/koying/xbmc/commits/outher

Koying, the guy who made the port said it is a frodo port. Maybe just the stagefright part is from the 29 August nightly. Here is a post from the developer himself:
Hey, Koying here (the guy who made the port). Some pointers:

                                - the official ouya xbmc uses a different signature, so you can have both the side loaded xbmc alphas and the Ouya one on your device, and they will use separate configs.
                                - ethernet on ouya is acting strangely for some, since a couple of firmware updates. This can lead to the app freezing and eventualy dropping to launcher. If ethernet is not behaving, switch to wi-fi and check what's best for you.
                                - this is a stable (as stable as xbmc can be ) frodo port. It's far easier to support a stable version. If you have issues I can actually reproduce, I'll fix them

                                Enjoy

                                Source
