The beauty of the Flumpster releases are you just download the apk, no spoofing, no tweaking required. It will give you full GPU decoding on any rom. If you already have GPU decoding working on that rom with that version, just keep it until a significant upgrade happens, which will probably be a final version of Gotham.

OK..thanks for all the inputs. I backed up the minix XBMC and also installed Flumpster's XBMC which definitely is an upgrade

is anyone using droidmote with beyond xbmc 3.3? I am unable to bring up the context menu. The menu button on the client takes me to xbmc home.

A: Good? Yes, Great? NO! Although there are many fixes that can be applied to get a good end result, it will never play as well as other devices, with users complaining of stuttering/juddering not only in XBMC, but in any player, which is unlikely to be fixed. The Raspberry PI for example, plays videos much better, uses less power, and is as good as officially supported. It also has the added bonus of auto updating itself. The GUI is slower due to the single core CPU, but is silky smooth once playback is enabled. If you want a media player, these sticks can do an ok job, depending if you see stuttering/juddering. It wont get any better unless software fixes happen on both the XBMC side, and via Rockchip itself. Will it happen? Don't hold your breath.

If a Raspberry PI doesn't sound appealing and you're looking for an XBMC device, I recommend anything that has native XBMC support, or uses a Linux based version. However, as I own a PI, I can say that playback on these are brilliant.
If XBMC reports no dropped frames then you are suffering from the stuttering/juddering issue. There is no fix sadly, apart from use another TV.

If XBMC reports dropped frames however, the video file is too high bitrate, you would need to overclock or re-encode the file.

                    Awaking old thread...
But anyone tried latest kodi v15 beta 2?
I tried both 14.2 and 15 beta 2, performance with 1080p seems improved at first trial.
I have no time to dig out more and give review. But sharing if someone can really check the performance and report for others.
