OTT M8S won't enter recovery mode??

I have a small number of these as well. I ran AnTuTu Benchmark on them, and the other version with the modified M8 type board pretty much blows these away. Scores were roughly 31,500 to 27,500, which doesn't sound like a lot until you see the difference in the 3D graphics.
So, I'm thinking maybe it's as much a firmware issue as anything else. Have any of you found an roms, such as something from Stane, or other that works on them? From the preceding, it seems clear that flashing from SD card won't work, but perhaps with a USB flash drive it might, or if needed from the PC? I don't want to do the whole brick/unbrick thing either..

The included remote with the ones I have are the worst ever. That at least can be fixed easily enough..

I have 10x OTT M8S boxes. All of them won't enter recovery mode either. Symptoms are the same as described - "Rebooting" message appears at bottom left of the screen over and over again. Apart from this problem they run very well. I have been requesting support from the supplier but am having trouble making them believe there is a problem. Hope someone can come up with a workaround...

Well I think they are indeed clones. I wanted to put openelec on these as I had done many times before with other m8s boxes, but now I am in a fight with the seller to get my money back

I have two series of M8S devices (few of each) and I have the same problem with one of series - I can't load TWRP recovery on it. Second series are OK - I can load TWRP with no problems. Now I want to buy about 200 new devices and copy configuration (using TWRP recovery) from one device to all of them.
I found that there is one trick to get recovery on "no recovery" device but still can't load TWRP. I have been prepared comparison with all details between (https://goo.gl/kBLIZL).
Is anybody here knows where can I buy M8S with possibility of using TWRP recovery?
