Hey guys any help on this would be greatly appreciated, I've tried running the update zip both by holding the power button and also by going in the the update&backup section but both times it comes up in yellow writing that it failed it says “Opening update package" then “E:failed to mount /Dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on sdcard by read only (invalid argument) that comes up for about 14 lines then it say “secure check secure checked failed" “installation aborted" is there something I'm doing wrong. Any help would be great.

It is not seeing the recovery.img on your SDcard. You either did not copy that over or SDcard is corrupted.
Format fresh SDcard and make sure you copy all the files.
Yes I tested this on 005 FW.

This might be a stupid question but I am wondering if it is possible to do this exact same procedure except with a usb flash stick instead of an sdcard? I can't get my cardreader slot on my computer to work for some reason, however, I have tonnes of various usb flash sticks lying around. I don't want to brick my Minix device.. Aslo this is my first post here so yeah... Hey there everyone! hehe...

Hi,
i've a box T95 with s905.
I used this method to root the box and all 'looks like good' (...Android man updating...). I used this method for an issu on netflix sitting in loading. Rooting the box apparently solved the issue. The problem is that after restarting the box, i think i've lost the root operation because i observe the same issue with netflix.
Is it possible i lose the root operation after restart?
Regards

I managed to update U1 to FW007 and still have a root! First, I have uploaded FW005 and with no problem I used EZ-root. Then, before I updated binary in SuperSU, using OTA updated to FW006. After a few days, Minix published FW007. Then I turned off the SU, rebooted my U1, and I used OTA to update to FW007. Then, enough to turn on the SU. Everything works without problems.
Sorry for my english but I hope this information will be useful to someone. Once again, thank you Bob for your work.
