Tronsmart T428 Android 4.2.2 - Finless ROM 1.5A "Official"

Why use an app to connect vpn? It's one click in Settings. I use Astrill provider layer 2. For anyone missing netflix the amo-navX app streams well. Anyone using Xbmc on this rom yet?

Because with VPN1click I pay 3 $ x 3 months and I can connect with just 1 click... it could be quite a long procedure to change the server every time manually, moreover i am able to share it on all my Android devices...

However that s not the point.. the point is.. why the manual connection is working and not the automatic one via apps (tried more than 5...)

2 clicks! the app is on the home... 1 click to open it and with another click u choose the server. 5-7 secs... but AGAIN... not the point

SORRY if I don't see the point of using an app to use vpn but if it helps I think you might have a compatability problem.

I agree, I like the one click option on tunnelbear and it used to work faultlessly I hope they fix this issue soon. Also as I said in my other post I have over a years worth of paid sub on tunnelbear so would be a shame to loose it. Also I looked at the other vpn suggested in an earlier post and it was 3x more expensive so I would have to pay 3x the amount and then mess about in settings everytime .. Not for me thanks.

yeah i thought about that... the strange stuff is every vpn app has the same problem.. and the same problem was spotted on MK devices... well I ve just upgraded to this ROM and the problem is not solved yet. I hope Bob should do something...

I'm about to test this rom, but one thing I found really anoying in my stock rom is the lack of the screenshot button. Is that included in this version??

Does anybody know if this rom will also work on the CX-919 devices? Hardware should be pretty the same except the external antenna

Nope wont work.... But I am working on the CX-919 now and seeing if I can port a 4.2.2

But I will tell you... all of the 4.2.2 ROMs right now are missing a lot of capabilities!!!! If it was me I would stay on 4.1.1 for now.

I asked to VPN1click to provide me the manual configuration settings... they give me a list of servers to create one VPN with PPTP protocol and with L2TP protocol...

I tried both and I got the same problem: "trying to connect" and after 1 sec, I GOT disconnect. Tried different servers as well... so IT looks there is some issue in the settings... The strange stuff is that you are able to connect .... what s the trick?!

Ok, I tried, but Netflix still doesn't behave properly. Wow Netflix seems to have some funny stuff going on inside.
It hangs and glitches. But it did seem like some videos played and some did not. I will roll back to 1.4a again and keep an eye on things here. 1.4a doesn't offer super high quality Netflix, but it does work consistently. Utmost respect for you ROM developers. I wish I had your skills.

Several people have said this now. I was basically called a liar on it and didnt know what I was talking about. That it was the adapter and nothing else...Glad to hear others talk about it,

As Ive said the bigger the tv the worse it looks, and when you get into rewind and forward it locks, and sometimes just on its own..

Dude... No one called you a lair!

It's just your having issues not everyone is having... So understand this.

If many do not have this issue and some do, then there is some common denominator causing it for some. Better to help find what that is rather than just keep complaining about it.
If we can find what that is, maybe we can fix it for the "some". But just saying the same thing over and over without additional information.... helps no one.

WIFI reduces video performance

( Hi,

I can watch 1080p .mov videos from the microSD card without any glitches (finless ROM 1.5a). But when I want to watch it from my NAS over wifi it jitters. I tried all the popular android media players. My device connects at 65 Mbps (8.125MBps) The .mov file has 18000 kbps (2.2MBps) so there should be enough throughput to play it flawlessly. Regardless it jitters. When I tried the spedtest.net it scored around 27000 kbps (3.3 MBps) so less then the half of my nominal link speed but still much more than the 2.2 MBps video bitrate. ( I could get 45-47 MBps read speed from my NAS in windows) Nevertheless my windows notebook plays the file perfectly over it's 130 Mbps connection.

So my stick's wifi connection in theory good enough to play 1080p video files but in practice it jitters a lot. I have seen pictures from sellers that the cx-919 can connect with 130 Mbps. Is that enough to play flawlessly or it has no influence on video playback performance? I have bought this T428 stick because I thought that it's wifi chip is more advanced since it has 5GHz capability as well. It seems I was wrong. Or it' just a question of optimization? Or it has not enough power to run the wifi and video at full speed at the same time?

Update:

I have just received my cx-919. It has 4.1.1 stock ROM. Video performance over wifi is same poor as on T428. Wifi more sensitive (sees more access points) but 1080p over wifi is jittering.
