Which electric power do you advice ?

Can't download any app

Hi, do you guys have downloading issues?
I can go to the play store (version 4.1.10) but anytime I try to download, the progress bar runs and runs but never starts my download.
My internet connection is ok.
I tried everything (wipe cache, remove cache and datas of google play app,...) but I can't find any solution.
If you guys have an idea...

check your timezone, for some reason these sticks tend to set the wrong timezone even after you chose yoru language/nation if you let them set to auto.
if you dont set your time right all google services (included play store) wont sync and download.

More Official Poo about Netflix

I haven't seen any other comments about netflix NOT working, maybe i had a bad flash?
i couldn't get netflix working well on the 4.2.2 finless 1.5a. the quality was fantastic, but it still froze or crashed after a while of using it.
my t428 also crashed and rebooted once on the 1.5a. i have already upgraded the PSU so i don't think it's power related.
i rolled it back to 1.4a and it is perfectly fine for what i need, except netflix is the primary reason for this tv stick, for me. not doing any 3d gaming or anything.
- and though netflix is stable, it's still not 100%. it's not as clean on 1.4a, a little grainy, as it is on 1.5a, but it works.
is netflix working for everyone else on 1.5a?

I was going to try the new "Official ROM" from Tronsmart which according to GeekBuying now has Netflix working. Well, NO, NO, NO Netflix does NOT work! Sure the video is no longer scrambled but it locks up as soon as it tried to upgrade to high quality. Whatever Netflix does to control playback, streaming and sound, it's expecting things that the firmware isn't providing. I tried restarting, then rebooting and restarting and then I finally got a TV Show to play for a few minutes but there were jitters and stutters and momentary black screens and then the sound cut out. Obviously still much work to be done before it can be said that a Tronsmart T428 with Jellybean 4.2.2 supports Netflix!

Hulu Plus not working either. It tries to play the video and no video appears but the sound streams fine. A message appears saying "Strange. An unknown error has occurred. Please try again or contact support...blah blah"

The only positive thing is that network streaming works well and the USB Mass Storage issue appears to be fixed.

Still no Netflix and no Hulu is a HUGE party smasher for any of these devices though. I can ONLY slap a "DO NOT PURCHASE" on an Android TV Player that doesn't fully and truly support Netflix & Hulu. What other truly valuable functionality is anyone going to buy this for? Gaming isn't that great because most all games are designed to be used on touch-screen devices and even if they support gamepads, you may well find that a gamepad fails to provide the necessary precision to complete certain activities within the game. Netflix and Hulu are simply "MUST HAVE" features of these TV Sticks.

I'm glad that progress has been made, but my fear is that Tronsmart will pull a Zealz GK802 and not finish the job on this device. The window of opportunity is short. In a few months, new and better hardware will be out. These things need to work properly from the get-go or at least within 30 days.

can you be more precise please?

With the original 4.2 ROM the VPN wasnt working, then i downgrade to 4.1.1 and it is not working yet. I just wanted to be sure if the problem was solved with this ROM before to install it. The problem happens using apps, not using VPN in manual mode (like go to connection - VPN settings and so on).

Did u try to connect using any of the apps present in playstore (like VPN1click, Hidemyass, hideman and so on)?

Tunnelbear installs from the market place but will not run. It asks me to try installing Tun.ko Installer from the market place but when I run this it says there is something missing from the configuration.

Shame I have over a years sub with tunnelbear and I much prefer US netflix, the uk version is sadly lacking
in comparison.

Im glad there is others like me who see this clearly. I have been outspoken since day one on this subject and being used mostly for entertainment purposes.
Ps . The bigger the tv the more noticeable netflix is... Crackle is also another great streaming service but not like netflix its free and it will not even buffer.
So no hulu or crackle and netflix has many issues.
I am hoping this gets fixed also. I dunno why everyone is worried about a usb mount when it can all be done through wireless and it doesnt matter the size or brand.

If the app actually worked, there could perhaps be some of this But I haven't achieved anything with it yet. It's a start of something that one-day might be highly useful I guess.

I suggest you to use DroidMote if you want play with any games with your hardware controller.

To tell the truth, also only to use the mouse i suggest DroidMote, because it is much faster and more responsive.

The controller is attached to the phone and not directly to the android hdmi sticks. (in this mode you have also the usb of your hdmi stick free for other uses)

For games that have external gamepad support you can use directly your hardware controller.

For games that only have touchscreen control you must create a touch profile.

if you have a good wifi connection thare isn't any lag, i use it daily.

You can use any hardware controller. Bluetooth, wireless or wired incluse ps3 controller, xbox 360 or other. The important thing is that the hardware controller work, in some way, on your phone regardless from DroidMote.

RKremote is only the bad chinese copy of DroidMote. And make unstable also the roms that contain it,modifying the source code of Android. It also can be used only on these roms.

You can use DroidMote in any device (Android, Windows and Linux) and even when you change the rom on your android hdmi stick.

Think its your psu mate.. Mine runs great from the USB socket on my TV but if I use the so called 5v 2a PSU that came with it then it does the same as yours and crashes with netflx too.

Confirmed, the USB port on my TV does not provide enough power for antutu to run. Connected the t428 to the USB charger of my phone and voila, problem solved. Thanks for the hint.

I got a 5v 3.1amp PSU, going to reflash to the Finless 1.5a tonight and see what happens
If Netflix, Youtube, and moderate web browsing works, I will be a happy camper

Ok, I tried, but Netflix still doesn't behave properly. Wow Netflix seems to have some funny stuff going on inside.
It hangs and glitches. But it did seem like some videos played and some did not. I will roll back to 1.4a again and keep an eye on things here. 1.4a doesn't offer super high quality Netflix, but it does work consistently. Utmost respect for you ROM developers. I wish I had your skills.

Why use an app to connect vpn? It's one click in Settings. I use Astrill provider layer 2. For anyone missing netflix the amo-navX app streams well. Anyone using Xbmc on this rom yet?
