Is this the one based of the one I posted to you yesterday?

This ROM is the "about" the same as my 1.5 ROM but is made from the "official" T428 4.2.2 Release. I did not have to mess with the mouse pointer AND this time I remembered to add the RK Remote APP in the ROM kit. Sorry about that mistake last time.

I am calling this a Finless 1.5A ROM to make sure there is no confusion with previous ROMs

    Testing Notes:
    1) BT now works for me. I can pair my mouse and it works.
    2) My C310 camera works but the camera APP itself will not record video or take pictures and it is unstable. Too much mouse movement will crash the camera APP.
    3) Skype will not work at all with my C610 camera.
    4) Netflix seems to work well. Less frame skipping than I have seen yet on any ROM.

    Enjoy,
    Bob

Features and release notes for my T428 4.2.2 - 1.5A ROM:

    1) Rooted and new SU and Superuser applied that supports Android 4.2.2

    2) Stock ROM was only 2 Gig of APP space.
BUT you also have parameter file options!
    There are also 1gb, 2gb, 4gb and 6gb options.
Read below for how to change that in the flash tool.
Realize if you use this 6gb option, internal SDcard will only have about 600 megs of free space!

    3) Debloated of junk APPs and Google Apps you can get from Google Play.
I also updated Google Play and Google basic APPs to the latest versions.
Except Google Search as that must be updated manually at this time.

    4) As always, full init.d support! If you do not know what that is... ignore it. For geeks that want to use it. It is there!

    5) I re-enabled location services. This is now in the settings menu.
Tested and working with all APPs that use it.
Remember to turn off GPS as we have no GPS.

    6) I also re-enabled accessibility options in settings.

    7) Gameloft fix. This fixes Gameloft games from crashing to the desktop.
Many of them do not run and crash to the desktop. This is due to a license check based on the device.
Special thanks to Christian Troy for inventing this fix. I modded it for this ROM.

    8) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say "not compatible".
I am spoofing a Samsung device that will show almost any APP as compatible.
Yuor device will show up in google play as Samsung device not a T428 or RKSDK! Understand this please.
I also left the original build.prop in the ROM called build.orig.
If you want to go back, just use ES FIle Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old
    Then rename build.orig to build.prop.
Go into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.
Reboot! You should be back to stock.

    9) RK Mirroring is enabled as always.
Also new to Android 4.2.2 is Wifi display.
If you have another 4.2.2 phone or tablet you can share your devices screen on your TV.

    10) Remote Control using RK Remote APP is now fully supported!
In the ROM kit is a RKRemoteControl.apk.
NOTE: This is a NEW version and will not cause your TV stick to crash.
So if you have already installed RKRemote before you need to un-install it and re-install this version!!!!
You install this on your phone or tablet and now it can remotely control your TV player!
Just put the APK on sdcard or something and install it on your Android phone, tablet, etc.
ENJOY this one! I had a HARD TIME getting it to work!

    11) I added a reboot APP that will allow optional reboot options like reboot to bootloader (flash mode).

For more information ALWAYS read the README in the ROM kit!

couldn't get netflix working stable - rolled back to finless 1.4a

awesome ROMs, the whole lot of them!
the 1.5 was really good, except i couldn't get netflix to run consistently.
It did run super smooth though. the frame skipping issue was not noticible. but, netflix continued to freeze and/or crash.
i tried the netflix tricks to make it think it was running on 4.0, and i tried netflix black, but neither seemed to resolve the stability issue.
So... i rolled it back to 1.4a, which seemed to be my favorite so far.
i'm so grateful for all the time you are putting into these ROM's. i must say i'm fascinated with thee process.
      thank you sincerely!

        I was wrong.

Much of the film flickers, stutters and bad! You can improve this or that all your Tronsmart?

I upgraded from 1.4A to 1.5A a few hours ago and I'm still in awe over how well the stick performs with this ROM. The latest xaf build of XBMC with MX Player Pro offers the smoothest video playback I have yet witnessed with this device. (I have yet to test the new Alpha build).

In all respects this is very close to a perfect ROM (also my first experience with 4.2.2). My only gripe is that external sound devices are still not recognised (i.e. no mic support for Skype). Also the HDMI jitter is present but, at least with PAL material and with (1920x1080-)50hz display refresh rate, it is next to impossible to notice.

          Tested as working OK:
          • D-Link DUB-H4 USB hub
          • Wii USB-RJ45 adapter
          • 1TB 2.5" NTFS-formatted HDD (USB mount point OK!)
          • Logitech K400
          • SambaDroid as a service (bound to 'eth0')

It would be a Shakespearean effort to find the right words to thank you, Bob, for all you have done for this community.

            Netflix works on 1.5a?

I haven't seen any other comments about netflix NOT working, maybe i had a bad flash?
i couldn't get netflix working well on the 4.2.2 finless 1.5a. the quality was fantastic, but it still froze or crashed after a while of using it.
my t428 also crashed and rebooted once on the 1.5a. i have already upgraded the PSU so i don't think it's power related.
i rolled it back to 1.4a and it is perfectly fine for what i need, except netflix is the primary reason for this tv stick, for me. not doing any 3d gaming or anything.
            - and though netflix is stable, it's still not 100%. it's not as clean on 1.4a, a little grainy, as it is on 1.5a, but it works.
is netflix working for everyone else on 1.5a?

If you have a trained eye its very VERY noticeable.
They kinda avoid the Elephant in the room on that one.
It locks up on me also sometimes and its choppy/skips and when you get into the controls forward/backwards when it freezes on my end here.
PS. The bigger the TV the more its noticed, I think alot of these guys are using sub 30" monitors and that makes a huge diffrence. I can place it in on a bedroom tv and it looks really good then I move it too a larger tv it looks like crap to be honest. And thats what many of the buyers are gonna use it for is entertainment purposes. Crackle does not work, Bluetooth does not start when paired when reset also .

So you got the ethernet plugged in with a bluetooth keyboard its gotta be Paired again by unplugging the ethernet and a regular mouse and then the ethernet again. A pain in the ass, sorta gave up and just check here ever few days for a fix, Hope it does not turn into a 100 dollar paperweight.

              Goodluck on it!

                I'm curious!

Pipo m9 4.2.2 works great for video playback. In order for the kernel to be used?

Hello All, and thank you Bob for all your hard work on this. My concern is that the antutu benchmark keeps crashing and the stick reboots one or two seconds after pushing the test button in antutu. I have tried the previous 1.4 rom and now this new 1.5A too, same thing happens with both roms. Have any of you guys expreienced such a thing too?

Think its your psu mate.. Mine runs great from the USB socket on my TV but if I use the so called 5v 2a PSU that came with it then it does the same as yours and crashes with netflx too.

This is exactly what happens with my unit , too. I haven't tested it with its own power supply , but it went through the Antutu test , scoring 15625 , while it was just plugged in my TV's Usb port.

The PSU that comes with it must be absolutely terrible to be out classed by TV usb ports . Running Netflix with my USB port on the TV is great, slightly choppy but perfectly usable. The minute I run it from the PSU that came with the stick Netflix loads the video then immediately crashes or lasts about 10 seconds then crashes.

Also antutu runs perfect via my TV USB port.

                                PSU's

Geekbuying upgrades the PSUs that come with this stick to a 2000ma (2 AMP) PSU. If you look at your PSU sticker and it does not say 2000ma or 2 amp, then toss that junk!

A bad PSU will give you nothing but stability problems!
And don't count on all TV USB ports or PC USB ports to be able to provide the power needed! If it works great, if not, then your TV or PC cannot provide the power needed.
