Once you have successfully installed RockChip drivers, and as you've flashed to RileyROM, you know they work - then your drivers are safe. There will be no problem updating them. As long as you manually select the new RockChip drivers (Don't let Winows search or choose one for you) - updating RockChip drivers with newer RockShip drivers, is perfectly safe. The "risky part" is the first time you connect and install them.
Newest RockChip drivers are v. 3.5. If you boot to flash mode, right-click the RockChip device in Device Manager, and go to Driver Details or such. It should say what your current driver version is.Last edited by pr0xZen; 13 July 2013, 00:23.Support your local flasher

Hey, guys...I just posted 1.7...you might try it (wifi only, right now).
Changed Superuser.apk and added VPN support.

Nope...you can delete it.
It was a backup created by the text editor when I changed it. It shouldn't cause any problems, though.Randy

You just need to make sure your file manager is set to have root (read/write) access. You can do that in the preferences of the file manager.Randy

Reply & question on CWM

Not sure exactly what I did, but I worked on the settings in ES3 Explorer, along with the ES Task Manager ..and it worked.
NEW QUESTION:
Never used CWM. It is now on the tab with the Rileyrom loaded.
To load the latest Rileyrom, I just put the new rom zip file on my sd card, boot to recovery and follow my nose ...right?
I am asking because I had seen two ways to do this ..one placing the zip on the card; the other placing the zip in root.
This is so kewl! Thanks.Cube T9; Pipo M8 Pro (on life support); LG gPad

No. At this point in time, RileyROMs for RK3xxx devices are NOT CWM flashable. For a detailed explanation, see the First Time User Readme. New RileyROMs, and/or other ROMs must be flashed by cable, as the first time.Support your local flasher

I do have a template to install our ROM's via CWM, however until we get a device specific version of CWM for the M8 Pro, I'm afraid we can't use it just yet.
I looked over at Fun's thread on XDA...(which I can't seem to post on...for some reason) and I haven't seen any recent posts by him. If we could get Fun to produce a CWM specific to the M8 Pro, future ROM's can be flashed via CWM...I can put the template in with the ROM kit.
BTW.....So...why all the posts on this thread? Any love for the 1.7 version?Randy

I stickied the most recent versions of the top 3 devices. Maybe that will make things easier.

I'll leave it as it is.
Everyone, unless you are currently using version 1.5...please take further discussion of this tablet to the 1.7 thread. Further support is always done with the latest version.
