    AMLOGIC S912 is here with ANDROID 6.0 - Octa-Core Cortex A-53 & VP9 support

Just back from CCBN fair in Beijing. I guess this is interesting:

The new AMLOGIC S912 is coming soon. Maybe we could see the first reference motherboard next month. As well as S905X, the S912 is coming with Android 6 (hope everything is ready as expected).

From my part... I am really excited , too much time waiting for this SoC.

Well, the S905X also include these things.

Then... work with platforms as Netflix is not easy anyway.

This is wonderful! I've been holding off moving up from my S812-H-based Minix Neo X8-H Plus to an S905-based android TV box (e.g., Minix U1), waiting for the S912 to become available. Can't wait for Minix to implement. Question: What impact would that OpenGL 3.1 3D GPU have on video streaming (rather than gaming), compared to the Mali Pentacore 450 GPU? [FYI: I am a non-technical user of high-tech gadgets.]

Looks a very interesting piece of Kit, looking forward too when these roll out.
Let's hope they get it right.

Its a great thing to have on a tv box is the DVB T2 it really makes them stand out form the rest.

I would like to see a lot more tv box's with the DVB T2 option

I don't really understand this stuff, although I do recognize the significance of such things as HDR and HDMI 2.0a for optimum 4K video. And octa-core sounds more powerful that quad-core. I assume that the Mali-T820 is more powerful that the Mali-T450 (used in many of the current media boxes). I had heard rumors that it would be the Mali-T830, but, for my purposes, I don't care about the 3D gaming capability of that 830 GPU. This S912 certainly seems to be a significant step up from the S802-H in my current box or even the S905 in the Minix Neo U1. I'd never heard of the "Inphic" media box. I just hope that Minix doesn't drag their heels implementing this chip. Question: What is the RAM capacity of this chip? More than 2GB?

amilogic still the best for screen colours and clearness of video. Good news re drm and gpu look like it should handle slowness issues on most amilogic devices now...
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.
