Interesting read, never had any success with my m8s using SD card this might be down to the card reading your posts, any issues installing twrp and using standard ROM ? Eg booting correctly

The following are for USB cable method (USB Burning Tool):

1. link removed - 7MB (USB Burning Tool)
2. link removed - 700MB (Stock Firmaware)

I have the same box with PCB CS_812M8_V1.3 and I would to try your unbrick backup image.
Possible for you to still have the link or image from item (2)- 700mb (TWRP backup)?
I have try item (3), but it got error during flashing.

Currently I'm now running this 5.1 rom (M8S(n200c)_to_M8S+ 5.1 20151022-aml_upgrade_package, the defect here is ethernet is not working.
