I installed this new firmware form manufacturer: (the old one was rubbish)
Pro:
1. I can install the apps from Google Play
2. Now dual wi-fi in working, i can see and connect to my 5GHz network.
3. Paid Video services (DigiPlay) works now, i can see the movies in the application.

Cons:
1. Kodi version 16.0 still buggy, and exit when i make changes to addons.
2. VIdeos from harddisk don't play smooth i use bsplayer, vlc, mxplayer (this on a 3.0 Seagate 1TB HDD), they work even worse than before, and they are 720p, not 1080 or higher. and when i watch a movie sometimes it goes back to the begining and then back to minute i was watchin, very annoying, on old firmware never had this problem.
3. Xbox 360 controller, doesn/t work on this device, not on old firware, not on this one, very dissapointing, the wanted to play games on this device, on MXIII, works plug'n'play, on mxq pro+ not even close
4. On playstore remote controller doesn't work on "my apps", "settings"


I'll come back with further updates on this firmware.

I have to see it it restarts as before, and if wi-fi is weak like before (i downloaded Asphalt 8 in about 40 minutes with old firware)

I have tried to follow your instructions, however on step 5
Insert USB male-male cable in USB-4 (OTG) port until device is recognized and driver is loaded.

I have tried on windows 7 and windows 10 but no luck. The driver does not install, and the device is not recognized by windows.

Any idea?

I've tried to install this new firmware, but .... there is no "reset" button in my box. I've opened it and ... there is really nothing back AV hole!!!!

Funny, after the long, long wait, the box my Wife received yesterday has the reset button...lol. The stock firmware = Crap, Crap, Crap. Installed the SD Robot firmware and it's much better. She's not too pleased with gearbest right now since the out of box experience has been nothing but bad because the box does not operate as advertised and does not meet all of the specs detailed on the Gearbest website. There is nothing worse than getting something new, connecting it and finding nothing but error messages and constant restarts. Gearbest support first told her a return would not be accepted because she took it out of the box and used it...lol, c'mon really. They act as though this is the first time they heard of troubles with this box, not even possible. She has been offered a partial refund to keep the box rather than return it to China. She's not sure yet, she might take advantage of the free Paypal return shipping program to send it back.

You and everyone else just click and ordered a device proven not working and not supported. Gearbest isnt the problem here as same device is on all the top sellers geekbuying ect. Expecting a china device to work outa the box without any problems takes some reading and checking on buyers part. Good link for devices without reset.

Listen, I can tell you that I ordered the MXQ Pro+ long before it was proven to have problems and I waited an extra long time for it to arrive. I communicated with Gearbest and the manufacturer before It was ordered. and support was assured, sadly those were lies. I read and I double checkedm I'm not new to this game. I don't know what else you think I should have done. If nobody adopted new products, there would never be any new products. Where else do any devices come from but from China?

Before the box was actually released for sale. It was tested and results given in 3 videos that i know of. New products should NOT have end users as test subjects and same manufacture released crap boxes before. Other box manufactures (actually on this site) have provided steady updates and firmware since testing products. So your saying some place on FreakTab theres a positive review of this device???? It doesnt exsist because everyone here knew the manufacture and reviews of device before launch.

To make sure you dont go through this again ask here and see reviews of devices. New products normally have issues. Stick with know manufactures that already support thier products. Ps. Having a actual web site forum or someplace they distribute thier firmwares is big hint 😁

If you look, I started the first thread asking Qs about this box, before any reviews were posted, in fact I posted those first reviews, you questioned me about them being from another manufacturer, other than Gearbest. . I certainly didn't say there was any positive reviews, there are none. My whole point has been, from the start, while the manufacturer has a responsibility, the seller too has a responsibility to their customers to sell products that at least meet the specs as sold and once it is found to have problems to stop the sale, and most certainly stop putting it on flash sale, over and over, while reducing the price, over and over.obviously to entice new customers. Anyway, I'll deal with the issues with this box on my own but I feel it is wrong for gearbest to keep promoting it to unsuspecting customers and the myth that the box has received 4.7 stars from other customer reviews.

I agree but every single seller has the same (not only gearbest)I am not sticking up for any of them you are correct in your statement regards to them having responsiblity but none of them do. Did anyone say this was a good box to get??? I think JD and Risky posts says it best.

I really don't want to get in to a back and forth pissing match with you, cause I think we are actually on the same page. I questioned other suppliers, in their threads, not just Gearbest, it just so happens, I ordered from Gearbest so I focus on them. Not all the customers buying this box are Freaktab members. Sad for them, I know but whats worse is they don't see the same sooutions we do. You are seeing that new people are starting to show up, asking questions, looking for fixes as they find Freaktab.

Buddy no pissing contest look at the posts in your own thread!!!! Crap dont buy software sucks and you still bought. China sellers will not change..... They still sell 6 year old devices if your willing to purchase them..... You wont change there selling tacks to be like eu or north america......
