I would like to win the Vorke because I have been a champion of Windows boxes since using the Ara X5 for the first time.
They work out of the box, with very little in the way of configuration required.
Just about everybody has used and knows Windows, so easy for the first time buyer to get up and running straight from the get go.
No issues with services that won;t run on many Android boxes such as Netflix and others with DRM protection.
Able to handle just about any device that you plug in with a driver almost certainly being available.
No custom anything needed and no rooting required to bypass restrictions.
A gazillion applications out there, many of which can be had for free.
Vendor software support is less likely to be needed by virtue of the fact that drivers are often cross compatible across windows machines.
The Vorke has a few advantages over the original stream of windows boxes that have come to market.
1. the new and improved Braswell J3160 that improves upon the likes of the N3150 and better than any of the Atom X series, whist still being able to be packaged inside a low power, small box.
2. Gigabit lan, which from my experience is vital when streaming across my local lan, where 100mb just doesn't cut it enough for high bitrate videos.
3. AC WiFi, which, when using the device as a portable machine will handle data traffic far more efficiently than so many boxes that have only single band and s few that have dual. There is also less interference from other wireless devices around.
4. 4Gb RAM, which is just about the right amount to satisfy the needs of video and usage as a general PC.
5. 64Gb SSD gives enough space for Windows and just about all the apps that the average user would require.
6. Linux will also work well on such a platform and quite likely with the minimum of fuss and modifications. More high end audio output will also be available through a Linux (or even Openelec/librelec setup).
7.Review benchmarks on the Vorke seem to bare out the speed of the SSD as being a great improvement on previous generation models.
8. Support for an additional SSD drive just enables the kind of expansion required for those with greater needs for installation of apps and data, so makes it far more flexible,
9. Bluetooth 4.0 is pretty much s standard on all boxes now and with AC WiFi operating on a different channel BT performance is likely to be an improvement over other boxes.
10. HDMI and VGA gives more flexibility of use, enabling connectivity to a TV and monitor (quite possibly both at the same time too if desired).
11. 4 USB Ports (2 x USB 3.0) should be enough to cover most external devices likely to be used.
12. 19V/2.1A or 12V//3A should provide enough power to satisfy the demands when utilising all ports, without components falling over because of overload.
The overall versatility would enable me to use it as a true PC, and entertainment centre and it's potability is something that I could use for business purposes as well as when visiting friends and relatives to show them all my wares and goodies.
In addition, by testing all available OS options available, my feedback can also be useful to those for whom Windows should ner be mentioned, or with support for Windows 8.1, ideal for those that do not wish to go down the Windows 10 route at this time.
As a constant user, I would also provide plenty of feedback in order that the device gets continual promotion through it's real world, every day uses that will inspire users to part with their own money knowing that they would very likely know that they purchased a worthwhile device (as clarkss12 wallet will happily testify).
Defence rests M'Lord and may god have mercy on my silicon.
