I have been trying to increase your rom Max cpu setting to 1.8 because some movies a bit laggy but its way beyond my knowledge. i thought flashing another boot.img would help but that ****ed the rom and it wont start so i need to flash while rom again.May I ask for some help please? I would appreciate it a lot!
The device has slow RAM, EMMC storage so it can't increase more.
It also has a weak heatsink so if you overclock you will actually slow things down more as the temperature will increase and start to throttle speeds.
Ugoos UT3 RK3288 has a big heatsink and fan so you can increase CPU to 2.0Ghz and RAM to over 650mhz without any side effects.
There is a reason the manufacturer limited it to 1.6Ghz and the RAM to 400mhz.
On my HPH NT-V6 ROM the RAM is set to 533mhz as the better heatsink can take it.
You actually need to increase RAM speed not CPU speed for better video playback and improved performance.
1080p videos shouldn't have any problem, you can try FTMC or RKMC Kodi.

Wow that was a fast answer! In fact, at least for me, the factory settings were set at 600-1.8. i updated the firmware to the last official available, and its also 1.8. And its technical info says 1.8 aswell. So, if im right, its not techincally an overclock. In fact i dont want to overclock it, i want it to endure as much as possible^^ Now im confused....are we both talking about mk902ii? Im having troubles with netflix performance (i think due to 1.6 limit imho), but i have to say that the quality of netflix has increased, maybe its just me but if widevine lvl 1 has done that, congrats!

Even Ricomagic slow the processor. It is a cheap board and heat sink not the best. You can do a mod to help out the cooling on this device but it will run slowly if it heats up to much. I run wassers rom on one and its to hot to run without fan (case fan hooked to usb) I was thinking of going back to moe123 rom to remive the fan.

          Downloading it now
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

If you are so kind to point me the right direction (im kinda lost in where to start), i can try doing it on my own (increase kernel limit to factory 1.8 setting) and learn something in the way!(official factory was SUPER fast at 1.8 )and with normal use it didnt heat so much , at least for me!

              Yes it's the same device.
Because the box is smaller than others there is not much airflow and it heats up quicker.
Running 1.8Ghz or 600 for GPU is not a good idea if you don't have extra cooling, with extra cooling you can indeed run that speeds if you want.
Netflix has L3 DRM so it plays at 720x480p quality.
Netflix audio is out of sync with this ROM and theirs, you also need to set resolution to 24hz to get better sync.
My HPH NT-V8 ROM is the only RK3288 Lollipop ROM with audio in sync so far.

I asked RKM 2 weeks ago but they said they don't have any new firmware since the one from several months ago, so it is a bit difficult to update the ROM and add new features, their kernel is too old to be compatible with my new RK3288 firmwares, so you have to do without the IR remote, wifi and add extra cooling if you want to use that.
I will update this ROM again a bit but not now when I have time.

For the record, as feedback ill post this in case it helps you in the future. with this rom:

-my remote and wifi both work perfectly, as good as if it was stock rom.
-netflix audio is working perfectly, not out of sync, dvd quality (drm lvl 3)
-i flashed it with rikomagic official "factory tool"
-only problem is video and netflix performance (bit laggy)

With original rom it was not even warm for me, maybe rikomagic improved the box or something in the newer ones. I had it working at 55 or so all the time)

I´ll continue my research to revert to stock 1.8 speed and if i have any success( i doubt it as i dont know even how to extract boot.img from the rom.img), ill post here the results.

I'll post a kernel/resource to flash for 1.8Ghz, 600 GPU tomorrow that you can test
Then you can research how to flash separate images.

Oh, thats very much appreciated!thank you. Im with it, at least to learn. For now, after 3 hours of research, try&fail, i managed to extract img files from rom and obtain a zimage from kernel.img. Now i have to discover how to unpack zimage and then edit it...it will come handy in the future i guess. And about flashing the new kernel, i guess its the same method as for unpacking the rom.img, i´ll just add it to the rom and flash the whole thing, i dont care to format the device.

After a while, i realised learning how to modify a kernel is gonna take way more time from me than i have...also im pretty sure the 1.6 and 400 limit you talk about is mk902(those are exactly its specs), as mk902ii is 1.8 cpu and 533 ram(correct me if im wrong please)

Also, i realized drm is lvl 3, not 1, my fault. If u dont mind, can i ask u to point me in the right direction on how to add drm lvl 1? Maybe i can help. As far as i know, you are the only one that has managed to add drm support (other fixes i´ve found dont work anymore), and this is the only rom for this device that has drm support, even if its only lvl 3. My most sincere congrats! for this awesome work...I dont mind if i have to spend hours and hours trying to do so. Its fun for me, and it will make the 120 euros€ i spent in this device worthy.

edited to beg for some help^^

                          Buena suerte

Just wanted to thank you all for this brilliant rom.
I installed it yesterday and tested streaming a dts file from my nas to the projector.... and is just brilliant.
                                same experience as Thomasqqq.
Didn't know the existence of FTMC, installed, and is pure pleasure to use.

Again, thanks all for the effort, after almost 2 years, I can finally see what I actually bought.
                                Cheers.
