First line of text below the spec box reads:
"While Amlogic S905 and S905M will have a hard-limit to 2GB RAM, S912 will support dual channel memory and up to 4GB RAM."

Unless AMlogic has changed the specs?

Since there is very limited 4K HDR content available what's the rush?
Netflix and Amazon each have 1 series and there are a few HDR movies but the ones I've seen, even at a 30+mb/s bit rate were nothing special.
When content equaling the demos put out by LG, Samsung, Sony etc is available en masse, then, and only then will I shelve my S905 Quick Play and S905 MXQ Pro+/Tronsmart S95 Meta box and maybe buy something else. By then the tech will be reliable, mature and the cost much lower.
I only use them when I can't download the content I want like the Olympics, etc.
Downloading lets me watch when I want, not when my internet or provider wants to let me.

All the 10 bit content was watched from my Buffalo NAS via a Netgear WNR4500 router with GB LAN and from a USB 3.0 drive, even though the box is USB 2.0 directly to a LG 49UH6500 TV as the S905 does NOT support HDR. Viewed from the Android boxes the content was noticeably less vibrant.
Perhaps the movies did not have the HDR control info since the HDR mode did not switch on when played on the TV but I was able to manually select and adjust the HDR mode on the TV so they were close to the automatic mode of the demos.
They were definitely 10 bit as shown by Potplayer when played on my PC and Life of Pi had very vibrant color when played by the TV interface.

    Have fun with the discussion.
