What type of android box?
I am looking for the best android box BESIDES the nvidia shield or amazon fire stick for kodi. Can someone point me in the right direction for a box that is made in USA with beefy insides. Looking to install Kodi and just put a couple of add ons in it. I'm sick of the raspberry pi. Too slow and i want to fly it against the wall.Tags: None

Hello clutchcity, Welcome to Freaktab.
Made in the USA? I don't think the Shield is made in the USA. I don't think(?) there are any.
Do you need/want Android?
"Fly it against the wall", yes, we have all been there for one reason or another.
I don't make recommendations for specific models, as needs and expectations vary wildly. If this is your first TV Box(outside of the Pi), please see here.
Cheers.

Thanks riscy dude, I feel that i'm at the right place finally. Well I just got off of the nvidias site and they really make it appealing. Cannot see myself paying $250 with all remotes and stuff but maybe it's a good thing and i'll finally have a reliable media center. I don't need an android device but I could deal with an android device. I just bricked this box called MXQ m10 and it's android. I tried so hard to restore it BACK to stock but was unable. I tried to unroot it because a lot of add-on's wasn't working and their customer support was super slacking and fell off the planet. Then I got the Raspberry PI and it's just SUPER SLOW. The air mouse runs slow and glitchy and I'm so over it. I could use a fast box with just KODI in it with couple add ons. That's what i was trying to do until I bricked it.

If you don't need Android, there are several boxes that run OpenELEC/LibreELEC very well. There are versions that boot/run from and SD card or flash drive and versions that get installed to the box.
You may want to look for boxes known to run well with these variants. Amlogic devices seem to rule in this category. The AML S905 boxes have been covered well. Freaktab member balbes150 and others have done much work in this area. The AML S912 is just getting started, there will probably be some good options there too, but it might take a few weeks.
There are Android boxes that run Kodi pretty well too. But OE/LE have much less overhead and frees up valuable system resources. So even some budget boxes perform well with them.
Good luck in your quest.

If your needs don't stretch to high end surround audio then there are rather a lot to choose from.
This site is the best when it comes to really knowing what people do like, so take a good look through the forums where you will get a good idea of what does the job and just as importantly, what gets decent support from both the manufacturers and people on here.

The KIII comes rooted already so its easy to delete the pre install folder. KIII is a proven winner.

Still can't read it. Most common are apxxxx and rtlxxxx. The antenna is usually soldered near it. apxxxx are usually silver and rtlxxxx black with antler looking symbolPrahjister ****MK808(nonB)****MK808B V5****MK808B Plus****UBOX R89**** CX919****MK808B Pro****Nexbox N9****Eny Em95****Matricon Q2****Tanix TX5 Pro****
