Best s905x box to date?

Ok guys, got the Nexbox A95X B7N delivered yesterday. Up and running now only to discover it has the renowned dark video issue.
Will a firmware flash permanently fix this or do I need to do the bootvideo change?
Would rather have a permanent fix obviously that doesn't necessitate the ned to run a quick video every time you want to use it.

I have the nexbox a5...I think it has same board with s905x amlogic. My factory rom was horrible. No notification/navigation bars. I install a new custom rom and I have everything in 6.0 android and run nova launcher including full root. If you are interested ...message me and I will repost the mod link. You will have to use the amlogic burning tool

I have a x96 with S905X chip 2gb ram 16gb rom..love it but it won't update to Kodi 17 even though it has the specs....does the firmware block this?...their is no OTA update...never has been since I've had the box for @ 1 year. Any ideas?

Take out the kodi installed or Ftmc and then try again

i have no video issues with my custom rom and i upgraded kodi to 17 beta and so far so good for a few weeks

Xiaomi Mi Box is just at another level of quality, It has the same price of most chinese TV boxes so It makes each of them a worse choice. i'm looking to upgrade to maybe the rtv s-10. Has pretty impressive specs. 3g of ddr4 ram 32g rom dual band ac wifi. Also running 7.1. Only problem is , i can't stand the launchers they usually have. I usually use nova, but if there is no notification/navigation bar built in , then i would have to pass. i was able to find a custom firmware for my nexbox a5 and it has full 6.1. no issues at all.

Maxesla 1/8gb box is the best S905X I've used so far by a long shot. The reason is it comes completely debloated, nothing installed at all. Runs as good or better as 2gb boxes or even some S912 ones I've come across.
