    Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.2

Funny...I have done this in all of my ROMs and this is the first time anyone has complained. Hahaha.

Hmmm Didn't manage to save that last attempt so i'll try again. Thanks for this ROM enjoying it. Just a couple of questions.

      1) On my last tablet (16gb Nexus 7) and my current phone (Galaxy S3) the internal storage is (apart from system partition) all collectively available for app installations and for data. How ocme on the PIPO that has to be separated?

      2) What happened to the PiPO launcher? I quite liked the look of that. Anyone got the APK.

      Cheers

        Re: Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.2

Those Nexus and Galaxy devices are set up differently. The structure of a ROM is determined by the chip maker. That is just the way Rockchip implements Android.

I strip the Pipo Launcher as part of the debloat because with a firmware update Pipo requires an unlock key code that is specific to your device. If you don't enter the code you get nagged by the system quite often. The code can only be obtained by emailing Pipo support, but I did so a week ago and never got a response. I don't think I saved what I removed from the M6 ROM. Maybe on the next ROM I will add an optional download with the removed apps for you.

          Newer chinese ROM versions

          Hi Randy

in another forum, I found a link to

          http://pan.baidu.com/share/home?uk=1946954351

a Chinese file sharing site, that contains lots of Pipo ROMS for various different tablets. (Maybe you know it already). There are quite a few newer (date) M6 ROM's as well some seem to be based on the new SDK 2.0. Do you think it would be possible to generate a new version based on one of these newer ROM's?

          See you
          Galaxy Note 3 : stock (4.4.2) ROM
Cubot GT99 : stock ROM with crossbreeder
          Pipo M6 3g : FreaktabROM v1.0.0

            WOAH! GREAT FIND

I'll make sure Randy sees this ASAP. He'll be very busy with work now, but hopefully only for a few days.

I hope you didnt mean my remarks on the "update-issue" as it was not meant to be a complaint I just expected it to behave the same on both options for system update and rockwell system update And to be honest... If i click on Rockwell System Update i think i shouldnt be thrown out of Settings, it shouldnt react on that at all... But, thats just my 2 cents But except for that, i love what u have done with it!

Hey Riley, I just wanna say first off, great job on the ROM and especially on the instructions (and also to pr0xZen!!). It's great to see someone who understands what it's like for newbies when going through all this. I've rooted my One X and flashed it with CM10.1 but I'm hardly experienced and needed to reread everything before doing it again every time.
My M6 was really starting to piss me off due to lags and occasional freezing, hopefully it won't act out so much anymore. I just have one question. I followed through all the instructions and everything went smoothly but after flashing the ROM, it didn't boot into CWM Recovery so I haven't wiped the cache partition yet. I'm just wondering if this is really a necessary step (since it was only mentioned in the Readme and not in the First Time Users Guide). If so, how do I get into recovery on this device? Do I turn it off and then boot it whilst holding the exit button?
By the way, is there any way to reboot the device whilst it's turned on? Or do i have to turn it off and turn it back on manually?
Anyways, thanks again for all your work!

I included a reboot app in the rom that has an option to boot to recovery.

I'm pretty sure that since there is no CWM for the M6 that you are actually using the stock recovery...not CWM.

No need to do anything else with recovery if that is the case.

Thanks man, I guess I should've read until the end of the Readme! I just tried to restart into recovery but now all I can see is a picture of android lying down with his stomach open and a red triangle coming out of it. I'm guessing this is not good?

It is just the stock recovery dude.

Just reboot a couple of times and you should get back into system.

                          Hi,

there is also a new (chinese) stock firmware (date July 4th; published today) available on http://www.pipo.cn/En/index.php?m=Ab...an_show&id=111.

The chinese FW also contains other languages but starts with chinese as default language.
