Does the rom have the Multi User feature enable? The Rom I am using now is based off the 0608 and the developer put multi user feature in.

I believe it wasn't added before this release. I'd wait for a reply from rrileypm before attemting to use the 12gb parameter file from 1.7 for 3g-tab, with the 1.6 rom for non-3g tab. These are pretty specific files, and we don't really know the scope of changes with the SDK2.0 yet. So I'd be careful with interchanging parameter files unless he confirms it should be ok.

You can install 3g Rom on wifi. I have done it and it just a little bigger all the other stuff is the same.

Honestly, I forgot to add that 12gb parameter file this time, sorry.

I don't have access to both ROM's to compare, but the main difference is in the size of the system.img that I have to adjust the offsets for. If you want to look at the size of the system.img in both ROM's. If they are the same, you can go ahead and use that one I did for 1.5.

Otherwise, I will need to make you another one.

At this rate, though...Pipo should be sending out a wifi version of the ROM soon...and I will try to remember to add that for you.

As for flashing the 3G ROM on a wifi only device...yes it will work just fine, but the system thinks it has a 3G modem in operation and will use more battery power. That's all I can see. I've tried both ROM's on my M8 Pro and can't really tell the difference, except for battery consumption.

In fact, if you have a 3G version and don't use the the 3G feature, you could save some battery life by flashing the wifi ROM. Since Pipo's 3G won't work in the USA, for instance, I would just flash the wifi ROM.

I own a Pipo M5 3G tablet, but the radio doesn't have the required frequencies to connect to the AT&T 3G network.

Awesome information because many people don't know that. I run in to the same 3G with another tablet I have. I use a ATT dongle not the internal 3G that will not connect to my att. So I flashed the wifi only and the battery is about 5% better. I have flashed your latest rom 1.7 and seems to be a little smoother but numbers on testing are same as before version. When I work out I watch tv from my vulkano player on the tablet and as long as it keeps a steady 3 mbps stream I am good to go. 4.1.1 would only stream at about 1.25 mbps. So I can say there is great improvement since march.

Thanks for the update. It's always nice to hear about good experiences with my ROM's.

You might notice a smoother performance with this new SDK 2.0 version, but I have read that benchmarks aren't improved that much. It's all in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

My M8 Pro died this week, so I'm waiting to experience this new SDK when my replacement arrives. I'm not sure if it was my fault...pushing the limits, but I let the battery go completely dead...and it wouldn't charge anymore.

I have to plug Geekbuying.com for their fantastic customer service. They help keep us ROM developers in business!!!!!

                    Hi rrileypm,

In the Read Me file, it said "Wait a few seconds and then click the "EraseIDB" button. It should count up to 16384. If it doesn't count all the way to 16384, you don't have a proper connection..."

But i got 4096 only during EraseIDB and it say "Erasing IDB OK" , it there anything wrong with my tablet?

Trying 1.7 now, will feedbck soon, thanks for the hardwork ...

thanks you for your kindness, then I will wait for your wifi only version (with 10gb or 12gb user app space) to save battery life

I am a bit curious about this bit, too. Through all my "traditional" flashes with RKAndroidTool - I've never seen it count higher than 4096. Never resulted in problems though...

4096 is correct for this tablet.

I use the same readme file and edit for each tablet.

The point is that if you don't have a good connection the erase IDB will only run a second or two and stop...but say it is finished. The count tells you that it is working.

Sorry for the confusion. At the time I didn't know what the actual number was. I should reword that part of the readme to be more generic.

you allow me to ask you a stupid question? What exactly is the user app space and what is useful?
sorry I'm new to the Android world

That is the allotted space allowed to install apps. The more apps you have, the more space you need.

                              I prefer 2gb.

The more app space, you have less internal sd space to store data.
