It wouldn't be a "port" per say - it would be developed natively for that tablet if it gets it.

About the hardware buttons - you can remap the "volume rocker" if you want, but its still limited I admit.

    If you'd care to use a nifty service called Google - you'll very easily find what you're looking for;

Here's how you can easily hide the on-screen keyboard on your Android device when you're using an external keyboard with it.

There is no workaround for that, unless someone comes up with a USB connectable set of hardware pads which could be programmed via software to provide whatever function we needed.

Something I really dislike, by the way - is the fact that the soft keys show up constantly via a screen connected to the hdmi port - which means that you get to have them visible below your videos or whatever.

I also wanted to also ask whether anyone here knows how to stop the software keyboard from coming up when a USB keyboard is connected to the otg port? This is another source of mild irritation for me...

    Aplogies for going OT.

      Thank you pr0xZen,

I actually found an even better solution for the keyboard problem, thanks to you pointing me in the right direction, it is External Keyboard Helper Pro, which I had already installed, but not set up correctly...
However I still have not found a solution that really works for hiding the soft keys; the app you recommended does not seem to work correctly on my M9 - the swipe toggle does not work, and the one time it did work was when I was not expectng it, and there was no way to get the soft keys to reappear without rebooting the system.

I was feeling a little miffed about your remark, but I have realized that in all the years I have been using Google to search for information, I am probably not accessing that information efficiently - maybe there is a guide that would help me learn how to make more efficient use of search engines - I mean how to specifically word a given search topic? That would be really helpful, as I spend hours opening countless tabs in my browser, but finding little useful information. I am going to do a search on this subject right now, but if you have a recommendation it would be much appreciated.

            @Randy
Do you know if this has already been implemented in the new pipo firmware (the one you were doing a ROM from these days)

So far, the only ROM I've seen this on is the M7 Pro.

I have read articles that they plan on implementing it on the M8 Pro, but I haven't seen any firmware releases yet.

                  PIPO M9 - Multi-window/Splitscreen?

This sounds like somebody's experiment...rather than an official release.

Let me know how it goes. I don't have much time today to play with it.

                    Ok, just play with it.

I need to update superuser to restore my apps with titanium backup.
To enable multi window, just a new parameter in the settings.

This function is very smooth, drag , change size , drop : very nice : no problems at all.

I can play angry birds while Citadel's benchmark is running.

For the moment, only setting app is on the new notification bar (quick multi window app)

but all apps can be in a Window just drag three fingers on it, then resize it : very simple

and there is a problem with pipo launcher because if I use the icon to arrange the Windows, the pipo launcher goes in a new small window (with stock launcher no problem)

                    continue testing

                      PIPO M9 - Multi-window/Splitscreen?

So this is truly part of the system...not required to use their launcher? If I debloat the usual stuff, will it affect the functionality? Is there a new app that is required? Did it require a password?

Keep testing an let me know what happens.

                      Thanks!!!!

No licence needed, just internet connection to enable the pipo laucher stuff (there is initally advertissement that is not configured, then after I have enabled wifi, this is gone).

It runs without the launcher (and with it, it's not very good indeed)

I noticed only these news apps that are not presents in your last 3G version:
This rom includes the Children app

So I think this is included in the system (systemui, Framework)

Sounds good. I may take a look later at it. Kind of a busy day.

KiLL FreeZe or Remove, that is the question....

Hey All, hope someone can help. I inquired about before and still have not uncovered any info or help on how to either: Remove or Stop the RockChip Multi-Window/Tasker. No matter what firmware I use ( PipoM9Pro > RileyROM 1.3 > 2.1) it occasionally just appears on! But what is weird id that the Settings show that the "MultWindows" is set to OFF. So the only method I have found is to toggle it on then off.
But at some point something triggers it to go on.
So basically I just what to remove this, period if possible?
Hopefully someone has some knowledge it this area and could help.
                              Anyone..?????

                              Thanks,
                              PipoM9Pro
