    1)downgrade to old working firmware. Just open old zip file and edit update script to avoid firmware version check. Than flash it via twrp
    2)dowgrade via pc
    3)copy km8pro wifi driver to yoka kb2 rom. The folder is in ect/wifi
    Thanks for your input, Kazar. There must be something else. I flashed both Yoka and the modified stock Rom (3/24/17) mentioned above, replaced the wifi drivers in them with the unmodified original stock Rom ones (latest OTA 2/9/17) - which drivers allow for the 5ghz wireless without fail, by the way - and still nothing doing. They must have modified or eliminated something.

            No changelog is available.
            I've installed it by TWRP, editing KM8PRO-ota-20170320.101400.V0923.zip\META-INF\com\google\android updater-script (open it with notepad and remove two text lines: (!less_than_int(1489976174, getprop("ro.build.date.utc"))) || abort("Can't install this package (Mon Mar 20 10:16:14 CST 2017) over newer build (" + getprop("ro.build.date") + ").");
            getprop("ro.product.device") == "KM8PRO" || abort("This package is for "KM8PRO" devices; this is a "" + getprop("ro.product.device") + ""."); ->than save and flash it)

            The differences vs Nov 2016:
            -Kodi is renamed tv center with some addons (is always possible to unistall and replace it with stock kodi) probably they updated only some app
            -Google Widevine is always level 3 (no netflix HD)
            -OS: Android 6.0.1 with always security patch 2016-08-01
            -Build: 2017-03-20.101400-V0923
            -Kernel: always the same 3.14.29
            -Root is present
            -Antutu Score v6.2.7: 40370-40800 so the same performance (if benchmarks mean something)
            Need sometime to check other things but for now seems to be equal to the release of feb 2017

            Add.
            tv center is a kodi modified: you can replace it in system\kodi but the launcher will not relink it in the home page if you don't rename the kodi pack (need to resign it)

              Does anyone have a 7.1.2 update for this box? Or a custom rom? The one in this thread does not work for me.

                the km8 pro box gets verry hot and it was dropping 5ghz wifi but i underclocked it to 667 mhz and put a laptop cooler under it now it never gets above 50 degrees build number is km8pro-userdebug 6.0.1 mhc19j20170320.101400.v0923 i have 3 of these now and will be trying various linux and builds i have searched and not seen anything after march 2017 im new to this forrum but ill try to post updates i dont think this is a popular box as it seems to overheat which is probably the root of its problems only tested one so far but i look foward to testing stuff and having fun as it was so cheap for the specs

                  Mine lost Wi-Fi connection. It won't turn on to even look for a signal. From what I've read, I'm not alone. A shame bc the Wi-Fi signal was excellent!

                    -S912 temperature should have a tJ of 125°C but normally temperature are between 40-85°C. Is always possible to install a fan or heatsink
                    -custom rom are present but are porting based on MM android for ex.yoka rom
                    -for wifi problem after changing firmware: check the name of wifi chip on motherboard and see if the new firmware has the driver for that chip. There are many box clones or maybe the manufacter changed the chip in some product. Is always better,before upgrade original firmware to get a full backup. If it is a ln hardware problem you can buy a usb wifi antenna module(but i don't know which one is supported by the firmware)

                    For my use there aren't big problems, probably with a better firmware games will be more faster(cooler,mali driver upgrade,scheduler,ram managment,ect)

                      I appreciate the help. However, I never did anything to the box. I'm still running stock. The Wi-Fi just decided to stop working out of the blue. I'd still be willing to put a custom Rom on it and use it wired. I've tried to flash the firmware in this thread with no luck. I've flashed boxes countless times, so user error isn't a factor there. Its most likely a hardware issue related to the heat as you've mentioned. I had the box upside down since the holes are on the bottom and heat rises. I have another that still works. I'll put some heat sinks and that thermal padding where I can on that. Maybe customize the box for more air flow. I have more boxes than I know what to do with. So it's not a priority. Thanks for your time.

                        You can try to resolder antenna o check wifi chip.
                        Best regards

                          https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=795195 You'll find 7.1.1 ported from other devices mostly. I've tried almost all of them, and the only Android 7 that works relatively well is the MOD7 KM8 Pro (7.1.1), at least on my device. Versions of 7.1.2 don't work with the original remote control; some are not rooted. Android 6 is much more stable unless you're itching for 7.

                          With regard to heat, it's true the device can get too hot (nearing 80 degrees C). It's true the device doesn't explode, but it surely affects performance in more than one way. What I did was replace the cpu heatsink. Then I drilled a 1-inch hole on top, removed the bottom plate and let the unit sit on a 100mm cooling fan. That reduces temp to 30 ~ 45 degrees C, I used the secondary usb port to power the fan, so it runs all the time. But since the fan requires 12v, and the port only supplies 5v, the noise is inaudible.

                            Nice, the Wi-Fi started working again. I used a Wi-Fi repair app. Not sure if that's how it got fixed because it didn't work right after I ran it. I did however open it up and add heatsinks and thermal padding to aid in cooling. I'll stick with the stock Rom for now.

                              For those who want Android 7.1.1 on these KM8 PRO boxes,

                              I have installed 7.1.1 stock MEECOOL BB2(non pro) firmware for 7.1.1 and so far everything has been flawless. My box is a 2g ram/ 16rom storage and rom seems good.( DO NOT INSTALL BB2 PRO FIRMWARE!)

                              MEECOOL BB2(non pro) firmware for 7.1.1

                              I am also running TWRP recovery twrp.q20x-3.2.1-0 and used it to install supersu 2.82

                              TWRP.q20x-3.2.1-0 AT POST 1440
