SUNNYBOX Pro Q9S Amlogic S912 2/16GB, Gig lan, AC WiFi, BT4.1
SUNNYBOX Pro Q9S Amlogic S912 2/16GB, Gig lan, AC WiFi, BT4.1
Today we ill have a look at the Sunnytv Q9S a very Good looking unit with equally Good features presented well
What's in the Box, good looking, functional remote, my favorite AU power supply, good look gear
Startup Card/Getting Started, easy to read Great idea for those that need it.
What we have is, Amlogic S912 TV Box ARM Cortex-A53 Octacore 64 bits, 2G DDR3, 16G EMMC flash , Mali-T820 GPU Dual antenna, LED Clock, Aluminium Casing, 2.4G/5G WIFI support 802.11.AC up to 866Mbps, Gigabit lan, Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The Q9S does run warm I find with some warm temps seen using CPU Temp Pure (guide only) +/- these units can run hot and some throttling maybe seen,
Updated firmware may address this issue
Information and some Benchmarks,
Yet to delve inside myself for a look see, Firmware may be in early stages was hoping for a bit more from this unit as hardware specs looks good
As seen by a teardown by User @calc in his Q9s post.
The newest firmware is 20161214, I just got it tonight and will be testing it out tomorrow.
Also it appears that I located a dtd bug regarding power management on these boxes, I'm not sure if it affects other S912 units as well but it might since I think Amlogic provides most of the coding themselves. Anything newer than the 20160924 build runs much hotter for me at idle, even with the thermal pad installed (~ 10C+). I don't have any engineer contacts at Amlogic unfortunately so I can't get the bug report to them. Hopefully the 20161214 firmware version resolves the issue.
