The Q9S does run warm I find with some warm temps seen using CPU Temp Pure (guide only) +/- these units can run hot and some throttling maybe seen,
Updated firmware may address this issue

The newest firmware is 20161214, I just got it tonight and will be testing it out tomorrow.

Also it appears that I located a dtd bug regarding power management on these boxes, I'm not sure if it affects other S912 units as well but it might since I think Amlogic provides most of the coding themselves. Anything newer than the 20160924 build runs much hotter for me at idle, even with the thermal pad installed (~ 10C+). I don't have any engineer contacts at Amlogic unfortunately so I can't get the bug report to them. Hopefully the 20161214 firmware version resolves the issue.
