Thanks! I'll try those same pins here and see if they work.

What version of windows did you try it on? was it windows 10 x64 ? and what version of usb burning tool? 2.08? Did you have to put the license folder inside the install folder when installing it? Could you describe what was the process you did to get it recognized? Ex. started burning tool, loaded image, clicked start, shorted pins and connected usb?

Sorry for so many questions bu I'm trying to weed out why its not working here! Thanks!

I'm happy to answer your questions!

I did try it on Windows 10 64x.

I shorted the pins while plugging in the USB cable and stopped shorting after a few seconds. While I shorted, the red led flickered occasionally.

When I stopped, the media player was recognised by Windows (which didn't work before).
After that I selected an image file (downloaded somewhere from here) and tried to flash it. (The burning tool was started prior shorting but I do not think that this is important.)
After a few failed flashes I plugged the power cable in too and tried several USB ports until flash was successful.

I either used 2.07 or 2.08 (already deleted it).

I never did anything with a license folder. I just selected an img. file in the burning tool, that's all (image was a few hundred megabytes)

            This one (PC-Upgrade):

After that I upgraded via SD card method to 1005 firmware which is available somewhere on this forum as well. (Although Im not happy with it either and upgrade process didn't show any video output. I'm actually looking for a firmware which allows me to play HDR content but I cannot find any).

Got it to recognize! But it fails with one or another of these errors:

              [2017-02-02 09:47:33 513][HUB3-3][0x10202003]Romcode/Lead UBOOT/Download UBOOT/Data tranfer error

Tried 4 or 5 roms so far, same thing. Also it gets to this point only with power connected or I'll get a LOWPER error.

Did you have to fix this aswell? If so, how did you do it?

I tried different USB ports and restarted the box sometimes as well (plugging power out and in)

hummel95 which firmwares worked with your box apart from the one you posted?

that one and all the updates for it have a nasty "feature" of automatically reinstalling any apps that you remove. Even the latest version, 10005, have this.

Xannytech bricked the box when I tried flashing it using the SD or Burner methods.

Any other you used worked that doesn't have this problem?

                      Thanks for your help too!

Well, after the mess with Xannytech's ROM I won't touch it again (although it seems to work quite well for many users).

I'm using the box only for multimedia, therefore I'm using LibreElec by kszaq.
Boot time is very fast compared to original android and there is active developement / community.

Interesting. I use some android apps on it so LibreElec wouldn't cut it.

I'll try messaging Xannytech to see if he can help making his ROM compatible somehow... now that I know how to unbrick it, its easy lol

Hi, I know this thread is a bit old but would anyone have a copy of the pin layout as I have the same problem and the link no longer works?
