Yes a good point you make, Shomari as said in post #11
Let's hope that amount of time that the RK3688 has been around be given to Amlogic 912 and the amount of luv and affection (tweaking/optimisation) you have given the 3688 will follow on to the 912 by other Devs
We know most if not all boxes start out ruff and ready, (I think recall a few 3688) pumped out in there 100's, cheaper parts (poor ram eMMC etc) to make better profit, and deadlines to get items on the shelves etc, but with time they slowly get there act together, and luckily because of people like yourself and Devs who take an interest and time to make something out of nothing/not much there
All users of these boxes should be thankful for that and always support Devs.
Early days yet, maybe you would like to take the amlogic challenge (even tho there is not one) and make a S912 kick some RK3688 butt.

I got my fingers crossed that the s912/ s9xx series will get some further love from the devs. We all know the 900 series of aml chips have untapped potential particularly with the new graphics circuit in the S912
Besides I can only come up with so many "reasons" to pick up boxes just to play with cool custom software and mods.
My second box the Awise S92 I bought mostly for the love it has already seen from the Devs and the performance and stability that allows. I think primarily of SuperCeleron. Thanks to his efforts and other members of the communitys contributions" my S92 runs completely problem free on SCC V8B and is chocked full of real world solutions as well a plethora of the geek tools we all love
I'll second the notion that we all should support the Devs whose software we so happily use. Whether through beta testing , donations, or simply just doing all we can to answer our own questions before asking the developer.
If we all could be part of the solution there would probably be more Devs releasing some of their best work.
No doubt with 3 gig of I believe dual channel ram available and 2X2gig in the works the S912 should be capable of quite a bit of performance versus single channel offerings. The question is will Beelink or another OEM develop firmware with the proper optimizations to take advantage of these features.
