sandrostl and Gontrand : Try configuring the gamepad in retroarch. Connect a keyboard and in a game press F1.
Now you are in retroarch (gui frontend). There you go to settings, input. And configure the gamepad.
My 8bitdo SFC30 controllers also didn't work, after configuring them via retroarch it worked.

I am trying to use the pack on the Khadas Vim Pro but unsuccessfully up to now. Does any body succeed to play?
I have tried different configurations but nothing work up to now (Newbie if you didn't catch it earlier ^^).

Sorry for my English

I'm loving the LibreElec + EmulationStation, I can play with a generic wired gamepad.
Also be able to configure a bluetooth keyboard to control the Kodi.
My problem is in configuring my bluetooth gamepad Ipega 9025, none of the four connection modes is fully compatible with ES. With the keyboard mode (A + home) I can even navigate through the ES interface, but when I start a game the direction keys work, but the action keys do not work.

Thank you very much, I'm really enjoying your work, I hope someone can help me to correctly connect my Ipega.

Copied the content of the folder into autoconfig folder but didnt help. If i start a snes game in the beginning it shows the controllername in yellow so i guess it's recognized...

you can also set it up, in the retroarch settings go into input, there is a way to remap the buttons to your liking, once you are done, you can do "save autoconfig", you can also save that file for future use.

Seems like a ****ed up config for your controller. You may have to go hunting for a working one.

Ok, initially I was on 8.0.0c, now I'm on 8.0.0e. Just tried it again and turns out connecting the controller, pairing, choosing it in bt settings and hit "refresh" there manually, resolves it. Now I can controll and setup kodi and emulation station like I want, but the issue persists ingame X is right dpad and A is up dpad...rest gives no response..

Maybe someone can help: I have two 8bitdo SFC30 NES Controllers. Initially I somehow connected one via bluetooth to libreelec to try it out. It worked, I think also in games... Later I unpaired it again and now if I pair them I can only get the dpad to work in kodi. In emulation station I can configure them right, everything works. Until I'm in a game, the controls are messed up..Like only 3 buttons work: start seems to be A button, Y button seems to be right dpad and B button is up...
I tried to pair with kodi in different modes, starting controller with start button is joystick mode. Kodi shows a gamepad. Start+B is bluetooth keyboard mode, cant pair it this way...and so on.
Now I updated the firmware of the controllers to 2.70 and copied right .cfg file from pinguys link to right directory, rebooted but still it doesn't work. Any ideas?

are you on LE 8.0.0e? 8.0.0c had a bug on the controller, that no buttons would work, only directions.

is another approach to yours. He takes Kszaq's LibreElec as base, adds Retro gaming and packs it to a new LibreElec derivate...which one can update with new Kszaq LibreElec versions.
AlexElec is a whole other custom LibreElec build of what I understood and pinguy only takes the retroarch/libretro part from this build.
From niabi's LibreElec build only Emulation Station (which is the frontend?) and missing retroarch/libretro part.

Am I right?...Reason I'm writing this is I am trying to decide which way I will go considering Retro Gaming (I know Retroplayer is comming in the future but I cant wait )
What other differences are there between niabi's retroarch/libretro part and yours?
The thought of having niabi's LibreElec build and possibility to update with a new version from Kszaq and after maybe take a newer niabi update and vice versa also sounds good.

They are basically the same, but in a way very different, pinguy 's approach is much more "universal" in a way that it can run with any LE build (or almost any) my version is a whole build compiled from source. If you plan to keep updating Kzsaq's version the day they come out, I recommend you use pinguy 's addon, while mine is based of Kzsaq LE it is not the same and you cannot update my build with Kzsaqs build as you will loose all of your emulators. my build is its own thing. but that said I do try to keep up to date with Kzsaqs releases.

In addition to what you know, I am always trying to get other non-libretro-emulators working, for example I have PPSSPP standalone working, which in my tests gives me an increase in FPS in some games, and I also have Advancemame, which makes MAME games look beautiful (but the performance is not as great as mame2003 or FBA), I almost have the amiga emulator (UAE4ARM ) running, I just need to figure out how to configure it. But there is no reason why pinguy can't add those later if he likes to .

The idea behind my build is to eventually turn it more into an emulation machine (Like Retropie) than a Kodi machine.

But all in all it seems the right choice for you is pinguy 's addon

Updated.

Updated a few cores and replaced retroarch with the latest AlexELEC version.
N64 is pretty playable now if you lower the res. I have it set to 16:9 520p. A lot of games run fine with that setting but for the ones that don't lowing the res helps a lot.
